The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the show will have to answer an important question: Who was Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) true sperm donor? Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) biological father will be revealed, so let’s discuss what we know so far.
Y&R has kicked off a medical crisis story for Dominic, but the goal here is to create a reason for some blood tests.
Those blood tests will bring shocking results and will almost certainly be to blame for Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) looming heartbreak.
Devon will get crushing news during the week of February 7-11, so it’s safe to assume the blood tests will bring the devastating blow.
There’ll apparently be no way Devon could’ve fathered this child, but that leads us to wonder who did.
Someone had to donate the sperm to create this baby, so we should mull over some options.
It’s possible the bio dad will just be some random guy who’s perfectly fine with not being involved.
That would still leave the door open for this man to come into Dominic’s life down the road.
After all, this is a soap – and soaps often have long-lost family members who come into play much later.
Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) might be another possibility depending on just how much of a creepy stalker he really was.
Many fans like to protest that Stitch wasn’t in town when the surrogacy story started, but how can anyone know that for sure?
After all, Stitch was lurking around before anyone knew he was back in Genoa City.
Who’s to say Stitch didn’t come back to town and pull off a sperm switcheroo – only to come back once more and kidnap the woman carrying his child later?
It would be an interesting way to tie up some loose ends related to Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) kidnapping storyline.
Plus, there’d be the potential for Stitch to show back up and snatch Dominic at some point. That’d be good for drama’s sake.
Regardless, we’d say Stitch can’t be ruled out if Y&R rewrites it so he slipped into town for the sperm swap.
Another option that would wrap things up all neat and tidy would be to just make this Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) biological son.
Chance supposedly suffered from low sperm count and motility issues, but they could just rewrite it so there was a mistake.
Maybe Chance’s sperm was viable after all. Perhaps someone in the lab saw the sperm sample on file and assumed the one from Abby’s husband would be used.
Chance has talked about how Devon and Dominic are blood – how everyone can see that powerful connection.
It’d be a great twist if Dominic turns out to be Chance’s biological child in the end.
It could help Chance start to bond with Dominic in a new way and just end this whole baby saga.
