Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, July 31, reveals that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) spoke to an offscreen Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) over the phone and delivered the news about Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfarty) being pregnant with his baby.
Eric expected Sami to congratulate him, but she was mostly just happy that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) wasn’t the mother!
Once Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) arrived, they also got updates on Sloan having Eric’s child.
Roman wasn’t pleased over Eric making such a huge commitment with Sloan, so that launched an argument between them.
Nevertheless, Roman ultimately smoothed things over with Eric since he was genuinely happy that his son would get to be a father.
Kate previously supported the idea of Eric and Sloan trying for a baby, so she acknowledged that and felt she’d be a hypocrite if she didn’t support them now.
At the hospital, Sloan decided to change the results for Nicole’s baby so that there was no mention of EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) not being a genetic match.
Meanwhile, Nicole berated the employee at the nurses’ desk since her results had already been picked up. That led to Nicole demanding answers before she tossed EJ’s name around since it had some clout.
Soon after, Sloan popped up and revealed that she’d received Nicole’s results by mistake. Nicole complained about Sloan opening them, but Sloan acted like she did it in a hurry without reading the label.
Once Nicole read that her baby had no genetic anomalies, she was extremely relieved and couldn’t wait to give EJ the good news.
When Sloan found Eric at the pub on Monday’s Days episode, she admitted she lied about going to visit Colin Bedford (Jasper Newman).
Instead, Sloan said she was nervous about their genetic testing results and went to see if they were ready at the hospital.
Since Sloan ran into Nicole and saw that she was so thrilled about her own genetic testing results, she claimed that eased her mind. Sloan acted like everything would be fine as she fell into Eric’s arms.
At the DiMera mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) was outraged over Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) holding up the wedding with his objection to Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) and Dimitri von Leuschner’s (Peter Porte) union.
Gwen ranted about Leo going back and forth over whether he supported this marriage before pushing him to tell her what was wrong.
Dimitri did his part to convince Leo that this marriage was for the best, so Leo ultimately gave his blessing for the nuptials to continue.
Once the officiant led the two couples through their vows, Gabi married Stefan while Dimitri tied the knot with Gwen.
The brides were kissed before the wedding reception kicked off – though Stefan and Gabi quickly made their way to the bedroom for a private celebration.
Dimitri cornered Leo for a moment alone and tried to cheer him up despite all the Gwen deception.
That led to Leo and Dimitri nearly kissing on Monday’s DOOL show, but Gwen didn’t notice as she reappeared.
Gwen did, however, want to know what Dimitri and Leo were whispering about, so they claimed it was about her wedding surprise.
Nicole suddenly returned home and wanted to hear about the big surprise, too.
Dimitri claimed this was about the honeymoon, so Leo piped up that he told Gwen’s new husband that she’d always wanted to go to Iceland.
Gwen was touched over Leo remembering and even more touched that Dimitri was going to take her there.
Back at the reception on Monday’s Days episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) gave EJ a hard pat on the back and caused him to spill his drink.
After Rafe apologized, he congratulated him on the new baby and wound up leaving the party early with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu).
Nearby, Gwen gave her bouquet to Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) since she was the only single woman left at the gathering.
Kristen also reminded Dimitri that she was expecting some of his inheritance, but she eventually got distracted by a phone call about Rachel Black’s (Finley Rose Slater) custody case since the judge wanted to see her.
Finally, Nicole met back up with EJ to share the positive test results, so he felt they could just sit back and enjoy the ride of her pregnancy now.
