The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, October 6, reveals that Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) will get nervous ahead of her wedding reception with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) was supposed to deliver Diane’s altered dress, but she’ll be running late – and that’ll leave Diane worried about Lauren’s connection to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Although Diane will fear Phyllis might sabotage her gown and try to ruin the ceremony, Jack and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will work to convince Diane that everything’s going to be fine.
At the GCAC on Friday’s Y&R episode, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will spot Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and wonder why he’s still in town.
After Billy acts like Tucker has nothing left, Tucker will remind him that Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) and Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) still live in Genoa City.
Although Tucker will make it clear that he’s sticking around, he’ll assure Billy that he’s backing off Jabot due to the blackmail threat.
Tucker will suggest the Abbotts have won, but Billy will remain wary since backing off isn’t the same as abandoning a plot.
As for Jack and Diane’s wedding party, Billy will push Tucker to stay away from it. Tucker will play dumb about the event, so he’ll continue trying to get under Billy’s skin as Billy does the same to Tucker.
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis will find Lauren with a dress and notice that it’s labeled with Diane’s name.
After Phyllis realizes Lauren is providing a gown for Diane and Jack’s wedding reception, she’ll view it as a betrayal and argue that Lauren shouldn’t be supporting their union.
Lauren will act like this was hard enough for her and push Phyllis to dial down the outrage.
Since Lauren will have to take an emergency business trip and won’t be able to attend the party, a grinning Phyllis will hint that she could deliver the dress for her.
However, Lauren will know better than to give Phyllis her enemy’s gown, so she’ll opt to hand it off to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) instead.
Back at the Abbott mansion, Kyle will assure Diane and Jack that he’ll be at the reception this afternoon. When Kyle asks if he can bring a date, Jack and Diane will seem uneasy over that request.
Although Diane and Jack will fish to find out if Kyle’s talking about Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), he’ll insist things are over between them.
Kyle will ultimately decide it’s not a good idea to introduce someone new to Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) right now, so he’ll decide to skip the date and make today about family.
There’ll also be some talk about Kyle being on better terms with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), but Kyle will clarify that nothing has changed and remind his parents that they aren’t getting back together.
When Diane and Jack mention that they’ll be renewing their vows at the gathering, they’ll wonder if Kyle would be willing to officiate.
Kyle will seem touched that they’d ask him and will definitely be on board.
At the athletic club, Tucker will flash back to Audra asking him what he’d do now that his Jabot plan was nixed.
Once Tucker pulls out his phone, he’ll text Audra that he needs her to reignite the fire with Kyle.
Once Billy meets up with Jack, he’ll mention putting the fake embezzlement money back and email Jack the proof. Jack will assure Billy that it isn’t necessary and express trust in his brother as they shake hands.
Billy will also offer updates on his conversation with Tucker, who shows no signs of leaving town due to Devon and Dominic.
That’s why Billy will think they should’ve turned Devon against Tucker, but Jack will remain against that strategy.
As for Jack and Diane’s looming vow renewal, Billy will want to keep an eye out for Tucker and protect their big day.
Jack will urge Billy to let security handle that since he’ll want his family to truly be present for the celebration.
Once Chloe delivers the dress and Diane puts it on, he’ll gush over how beautiful his bride looks.
The party will get going outside a little later, so that’ll lead to Kyle and Summer sharing a laugh with Traci about Harrison being rambunctious.
Diane and Jack will seem hopeful once they see Summer and Kyle getting along.
When Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) arrives with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), Summer will gaze over their way and excuse herself from her conversation with Kyle as well as Traci.
Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) will also be at the wedding reception with Devon, so she’ll glare at Chance with Sharon on his arm.
Once Jack kicks off the celebration with Diane by his side, he’ll invite any lingering naysayers to look in their eyes and witness how powerful their love story really is.
At the jazz lounge, Phyllis will listen to Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) play the piano before asking if he’d like to share a drink with her.
Danny will decline the drink, but he’ll keep Phyllis company and try to snap her out of her pity party.
Although Phyllis will act like everyone’s judging her and not giving her a chance, Danny will promise there are plenty of people rooting for her – including him.
Danny will just think Phyllis needs to focus on positivity instead of this woe-is-me act that’s getting her nowhere.
Phyllis will appreciate the pep talk and will eventually join Danny at the piano, where he’ll finally finish the bridge he was working on.
After Danny thanks Phyllis for the inspiration, he’ll stress the importance of giving someone a helping hand instead of kicking them when they’re down.
Phyllis and Danny will take each other’s hands in a sweet moment.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis still has a chance to prove she can turn things around, but bad news and setbacks seem more likely!
