General Hospital Recap: Thursday, February 8 – Nina Schemes to Crush Carly – John Spills 4 Mob Boss Targets

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 8, reveals that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) visited Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in his office to apologize and hoped his father could forgive him.

Michael maintained that he kept quiet because he didn’t want to hurt Sonny, but Sonny felt Michael should’ve spoken up right away.

After Michael came clean about blackmailing Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) and the deal he made with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), he made it clear that he wouldn’t stand in the way if Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) or Sonny wanted to forgive Nina.

At the gatehouse, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) dropped off some paperwork for Michael before Willow quizzed him about his vendetta against Nina.

Willow tried to remind Drew of the forgiving and caring man she felt he was at his core, but he acted like that version of him was gone after Pentonville.

Drew also mentioned Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) holding him captive and suggested maybe everything he’d been through finally caught up with him.

Regardless, Drew wasn’t in a place of forgiveness yet – and although he’d do anything for the people he loved, Nina wasn’t one of them.

Later, Willow called Michael and asked if he’d like to spend the night at the gatehouse since the kids would like it – and so would she.

At the Metro Court, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) ignored Nina as she showed up for a meeting with Bryson Nelson, who worked for one of Crimson’s top advertising clients.

Bryson seemed pretty set on terminating their agreement – partly due to Nina’s sudden ousting and partly due to the bad press about Carly and Drew’s relationship influencing things.

Carly tried to act like the brand would only improve under her direction, but Bryson wasn’t convinced and stepped over to greet Nina cheerfully at one point.

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) had a frosty interaction with Nina before hearing about Carly’s dilemma.

That led to Brook Lynn talking loudly about Salvadore (Matias Ponce) the photographer in front of Bryson and getting his attention since Salvadore had such a great reputation.

Carly piped up about Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) imminent cover that was shot by Salvadore, so Bryson became more interested in striking a new deal due to Crimson and Deception’s connection.

Nearby, Nina pointed out that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) owed her for his part in her secret blowing up, so she pushed for legal assistance.

Nina was considering starting her own magazine, but she wanted to use the features she originated at Crimson and scoop up the talent there.

When Nina asked for help getting around the staff’s noncompete clauses, Martin said she needed a magician instead of a lawyer.

Nevertheless, Martin agreed that he’d try to help. Nina insisted that she wanted her staff back and she wanted Crimson to eat her dust!

After Carly struck a new deal and gloated to Nina about being tougher than the magazine business, Nina knew exactly what she wanted Martin to do.

At Charlie’s Pub, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) dragged Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) away from a conversation with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) so they could discuss the rehearsal dinner.

That led to Lois talking about the benefits of her generational home in Bensonhurst, so Gregory seemed thoughtful.

Back with Finn, he admitted Gregory’s latest incidents to Chase and worried that maybe their dad shouldn’t be living on his own anymore.

Finn felt he could convert the office in his apartment and make space for Gregory, but Chase was concerned about Gregory’s reaction.

Chase suggested getting Gregory a watch that would alert them if he fell – that way, Gregory could keep his independence for as long as possible.

When Gregory returned to the table, he surprised both his sons by suggesting he should move in with Finn.

Gregory mentioned his conversation with Lois and thought it made sense for him to live near a doctor, so Finn got confirmation this was something his father wanted to do.

At the PCPD, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was officially reinstated as the police commissioner and made a speech about protecting and serving Port Charles’ good citizens.

As John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) appeared, Anna said that anyone who wasn’t with them was against them.

Anna stepped into the interrogation room with John, who wasn’t happy about his superiors insisting on the FBI and PCPD collaboration.

John was also concerned about Anna bringing Jordan and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) in on the investigation, but Anna stood her ground.

John wanted updates on what O’Neill (Jeff Leaf) told Anna and Jordan, so they shared about him selling multiple weapons from the same supply to one Port Charles client.

It was John’s turn to share next, so he revealed that the investigation into the stolen weapons led to the discovery of four assassination plots against organized crime figures.

However, there was no evidence of this being about a power grab or any turf wars. This was personal, but John didn’t want to tip off the person responsible by letting him know that they were onto his pattern.

That news upset Dante, who thought John just wanted to get his guy and “to hell with saving lives.” Anna insisted they had to focus on justice since whoever did this was organized, calculated and didn’t care about collateral damage.

As Dante left the room, John warned him that what he’d been told was classified and seemed concerned about Sonny’s son spilling to him.

Anna argued that John shouldn’t let his disapproval of Sonny cloud his judgment and asked what Stone Cates (Michael Sutton) would want him to do.

Soon after on Thursday’s GH episode, John showed up at Sonny’s office, so Sonny recognized him as “Jagger.”

Back with Dante, he talked to Anna about Jordan about Sonny’s threat being a potential inside job and felt it was important to keep his father in the loop.
