On the next Welcome to Plathville episode, the Plaths weren’t the nicest people. They act like they are when they aren’t. What Lydia’s brothers did to her future fiancé was so out of line. They mocked him and they didn’t even table it until after he was gone. They deliberately mocked him to his face. They implied things about his sexuality.
They were doing their best to break up Lydia’s engagement before it could happen. Nevermind what they did to Olivia or Veronica. Teegan was Ethan’s new girlfriend and she should be worried. She thought she was merely dating Ethan. And sadly that wasn’t true because one way or another his family was bound to intervene.
Ethan tried to keep things separate for a bit. He was dating Teegan for ten months before she came on camera. She was nice, she was pretty, and she was also a single mother.
She didn’t grow up like Ethan did. She went to regular school. She made friends outside of her family. She was really close to her family. She was dating Ethan long-distance for a bit before they really got to know each other. Some felt she looked like his ex-wife and funnily enough the ex-wife was still a wife. The divorce still wasn’t final.
They signed the papers. There was something wrong with those papers. They got sent back. Both parties had already moved by then. It took a while before those papers found them at the correct address. Ethan tried reaching out to Olivia. She wasn’t acknowledging his texts or messages from his lawyers.
Ethan liked Teegan because she didn’t judge the way his family grew up and he felt that Olivia always crapped on it. He forgets that Olivia crapped on it because she also grew up like he did. Their problems developed when she began branching out. She wanted to explore her personality.
Olivia was practically a child bride when she married Ethan because she was so sheltered. She then moved away from her family and his family. She found she didn’t agree with everything she was taught. She wanted to explore. She wanted to figure out who she was as a person and there was no hope for her and Ethan because he didn’t like the new her.
He pretty much said that when he refuses to have kids with her. He hopefully learned some lessons since then because Teegan does have a child. And Ethan was a part of that child’s life.
Only relationships weren’t easy in the Plaths household. It’s why Ethan waited ten months before officially introducing Teegan to Kim. It’s also why Micah hesitated as well with Veronica.
Or at least that’s what he claimed at first. The truth of the matter is that Micah was cheating on Veronica from the start. He cheated on her when they were long-distance. He resented her when he moved to Florida so that they could be together full-time. He kept cheating. He would have still cheated if one of his other girlfriends hadn’t contacted Veronica at work.
Veronica then found out that Micah cheated the whole time. He’s been good for the past ten months. He knew he’d risk losing her if he didn’t fix things and he did try to fix things.
He gave Veronica access to his phones. He showed her that he finally ended things with the other women. He’s finally committed to her, but cheating plays havoc on a relationship as well as on a woman’s mindset. Veronica blamed herself for his cheating. She only recently forgave herself. It might not be possible for her to ever forgive Micah or for them to move on.
Not now that his family drama was rearing its ugly head again.
Veronica’s disagreement with Moriah spilled over to Barry. She now has to wear war paint (otherwise a full face of makeup) just to feel good about seeing the family again.
The family was brought together for Lydia’s secret engagement. She knew that her boyfriend was going to propose. She just didn’t know when it would happen and naturally her family tried to get between her and Zac. They said Zac was too feminine. Ethan tried to talk Lydia out of getting engaged. He thought it was happening too fast.
Lydia hasn’t been with Zac for a full year. Again, it was another long-distance relationship. Ethan wanted Lydia to take her time and Lydia wasn’t upset with her brother after their conversation. She instead sought to hear his side. Why didn’t he like Zac? What was so wrong about the relationship?
Ethan just kept saying he didn’t like him and it made Lydia feel like he doesn’t really know her. They weren’t the closest. He was always closer to Moriah and Micah than he was to Lydia. Lydia’s faith was different. Her lifestyle was different. Lydia doesn’t think her brothers knows her well enough to judge what she needs.
Lydia did like Teegan, though. Kim felt the same. Will that stay the same in a few years? Ethan likes to blame Olivia for his estrangement from his family.
He forgets that Kim was taking money from his bank account and using his relationship with his younger siblings to blackmail him. He hated his mom for a bit. It had nothing to do with Olivia. Olivia was the scapegoat because Ethan forgave his mom. Which was fine. Just accept ownership. Veronica later met Teegan and she tried to give her some warning that Teegan didn’t appreciate.
Veronica also confessed that she might not join the family. Veronica was so frustrated by the Plaths by then. Ethan didn’t help when he said she has to accept certain things when she joins the family. It made her realize that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to join anymore.
When she first met Micah, she did everything to please them. She even crapped on Olivia too to fit in. She feels differently about that now. And no, she shouldn’t bring drama to Lydia surprise engagement.
Its about Lydia for once and everyone should just let her have this.
THE END!
