General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) could face a deadly trap if Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) loses control of vengeful Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo).
Marco still blames Sonny for Natalia Ramirez’s (Eva LaRue) demise, so he’s been struggling to wait on getting payback.
Sidwell tried to convince Marco that Sonny would be a dead man eventually, but there’s no set timetable for when he’ll take his final breath.
The longer Sonny is alive and walking around Port Charles, the more Marco’s going to crave revenge.
It’s clear that Marco wants Sonny to pay sooner rather than later, so this delay will leave him feeling on edge.
Marco’s 2026 GH preview info points to him growing increasingly anxious when it comes to this whole Sonny situation.
It turns out Marco will be tempted to go against Sidwell’s orders and speed the vengeance process along.
Could Marco go as far as taking matters into his own hands and trying to wipe Sonny off the map?
We could imagine Marco pulling the trigger on Sonny or perhaps drugging him in hopes of a fatal overdose.
Considering how Natalia died, Marco might think of the latter strategy as poetic justice.
Then again, Marco might send someone else to do his dirty work.
Perhaps Marco could hire a hit on Sonny instead and plan to finally put an end to the mob boss that way.
Regardless, there are good reasons to worry about Sonny’s safety as we head into 2026.
Marco won’t be a very patient man when it comes to his revenge goal, so he may go rogue and ignore Sidwell’s instructions on all this.
Of course, there’s a chance this could actually work in Sonny’s favor.
Marco will surely fail if he tries to kill Sonny, but there might be evidence of what he did in the end.
Maybe this could turn into a blackmail stalemate where Sonny threatens to send Marco to prison unless Sidwell backs down on his Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard) threats.
Whatever the case, General Hospital spoilers say Sonny may have to make some updates to his strategy after scary news strikes, so stay tuned for Marco’s next move.
