Cristiano Ronaldo was recently barraged with gay chants during a soccer match in Barcelona. Sources say that Barcelona fans chanted ‘Cristiano come out of the closet,’ during the entire 90-minute game. Fortunately, the chants by the opposing fans were drowned out by the Real Madrid fans during their 1-1 draw.
Eyewitnesses say Ronaldo was completely unfazed by the gay slurs. This isn’t the first time Cristiano has been taunted or humiliated by fans or other soccer players for that matter. Just last month, he butted heads with Atletico Madrid player Koke after he allegedly called Cristiano an obscene slur. Cristiano responded by saying, “Yes, but a rich one, bastard.”
If that weren’t enough, Cristiano was also on the receiving end of homophobic slurs when Real Madrid visited Camp Nou back in April. Even though the anti-gay chants were denounced by La Liga, the slurs were not included in the referee’s report on the club. What’s more, both Ronaldo and Real Madrid have not spoken out on the issue.
Even though Cristiano almost never comments about his personal life, many reports indicate that he is dating model Georgina Rodriguez. The two were spotted getting very up close and personal at Disneyland Paris last month. The Portuguese-born soccer player was also in a long-term relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk before the couple broke up back in 2015. For the most part, Cristiano has been keeping his relationships under the radar. In fact, even though he shares photos of his male friends on his Instagram account, he has never shared any personal pics of his girlfriends on social media.
Then again, Cristiano’s fans have long said that his sexuality shouldn’t even be questioned in the first place. So far, Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to make any comments about the rumors. In fact, he’s stayed absolutely quiet about the speculation surrounding his sexuality. Yet, sources say that the he’s had enough of all the taunting from fans during his games. Even though he’s sick of all the abuse, insiders say there’s no way he’ll open up about his private life in anyway. At least, not while he’s still playing professional soccer.
