Wow, is she really talking about love triangles so blatantly? Kristen Stewart, while promoting the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Tokyo, Japan, freely discussed her view on love triangles and that she understands how Bella, the protagonist of the books and films, falls for both vampire Edward Cullen and werewolf Jacob Black (played by Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, respectively).
Well, it’s actually no surprise that Stewart understands love triangles. In Stewart’s real life, while dating Pattinson, she was involved with a steamy love affair with her married former director, Rupert Sanders. She goes on and states at the press tour:
“There were times when it was difficult to agree with every decision she [Bella] made, but at the same time it was always coming from such an honest place in her heart.”
She later adds: “As a woman, I think that it’s really important not to discredit feelings. You say, ‘I don’t know why I feel it, but I do. And I’m gonna figure out why pretty soon.'”
Hmm, do you think that was what Stewart was doing with Sanders, trying to “figure out” her feelings? And the talk about ‘coming from an honest place’? Let’s really be honest here, Stewart was in a committed relationship with Pattinson when she was caught playing tonsil hockey with Sanders. It must have been incredibly embarrassing for Pattinson when those steamy photos were released. I’m surprised Twihards didn’t run Stewart up the stake right then and there. Stewart promptly issued a public apology to Pattinson to save face when the photos came out, stating:
“This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
Yeah, yeah we get it…you love him…you’re sorry…so sorry. And just before you know it, Pattinson takes her back. Gee, I wonder why? Promotion for the film? Contractual agreements? Misses the hot sex? What is it about Kristen Stewart!
Anyhoo, just like Pattinson and Stewart have made up, Stewart says she’s happy that the triangle is resolved in the final film between Bella, Edward and Jacob.
“There weren’t too many difficulties with the whole love triangle thing…I mean, she needs Jacob in her life. He needs her in the same way…they get to a point where they get to have everything and that’s nice.”
Well, maybe in some weird, twisted and awkward way, Pattinson and Stewart are soul mates, just like Bella and Edward are soul mates onscreen. And just like when they went through some tough obstacles, so must Pattinson and Stewart.
Ha! The Twihards must be having a field day with that one.
