Dancing With the Stars Recap 9/30/13: Season 17 Episode 3 “Who Was Voted Off?”

Tonight on ABC Dancing With The Stars returns with all the glitz, glitter and drama.  On tonight’s episode the remaining 11 celebrities compete during “Hollywood Night.”  Did you watch last week’s Latin themed episode?  We did and we recapped it right here for you.  If you missed any of the performances from last week, we have all the videos HERE for you to watch!

On last week’s premiere the competition heated in a Latin-themed “Dancing with the Stars” as the celebrities took on new dance routine and fought for survival. The themed evening require each couple to perform a Samba, Jive, Rumba or Paso. At the end of the night, Keyshawn Johnson who scored an 18/30 last week + first week’s score of 17 for a Total of 35/60 was the first celebrity sent home.

On tonight’s show it’s Hollywood night on “Dancing with the Stars,” as 11 remaining couples take to the ballroom floor.  Featuring a spectacular opening number with the entire cast, each couple will take on a dance style that they have not previously performed including the Quickstep, Foxtrot, Charleston, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive.  At the end of the night, one couple will face elimination.

Dancing the Rumba are Leah and Tony. Judges Comments: Len “I love the chemistry, it was terrific. I love the passion and the drama but there should have been more fluidity”. Bruno “You definitely have the parts, it is so good when I see people growing and moving out of their comfort zone, I love it”. Carrie Ann “I think your arms were creating this very cool passion, you turned up the steam notch to full steam ahead”. Dancing the Quick Step are Corbin and Karina. Judges Comments: Bruno “It was incredibly fast, it is impossible and you did it, I loved the old Hollywood, it was incredible”. Carrie Ann “The footwork was nailed, it was great, but you need to lose the Hip Hop”. Len ‘It was bit hectic; speed came in and technique went out. You need a balance, but it was a fabulous number”. Dancing the Foxtrot are Elizabeth and Val to “Come Fly With Me”. Judges Comments: Carrie Ann “You took your performance to new heights, there was so much going on, everything that I saw was flawless and beautiful”. Len “That was chicken soup to the eyes, delicious and satisfying to the eyes”. Bruno “You are flying first class all the way, you are a brilliant dancer that shows your love for dancing”. Dancing the Quick Step are Brant who sprained a ligament and Peta. to “Crazy In Love”. Judges Comments: Len “You were the no stress express, it had speed and control, it was painless to watch, I loved It”. Bruno “The nation is going to go crazy for you, it was perfection, joyful and stylish”. Carrie Ann “You are a fantastic dancer, great musicality and great lines, you don’t like you were hurt at all”. Dancing the Cha Cha Cha are Valerie and Tristan. Judges Comments: Bruno “You got the look absolutely right, but you went wrong so many times, it is tough because it is a fast dance”. Carrie Ann “You lost your way the whole dance, but you shine, you are a star and bring grace to the stage”. Len “You were uncomfortable, but you got through it. Dancing the Paso Doble are Bill and Emma to the Lone Ranger theme song. Judges Comments: Carrie Ann “You nailed the Paso, you came out and all your moments were in sync”. Len “When I was a kid and I love Lone Ranger, if you came out on his horse I would have given you a ten, it was your best dance”. Bruno “It was like being in an opera house, I love it”. Dancing the Charleston are Amber and Derek. Judges Comments: Len “It was such fun to watch, well done”. Bruno “You are an incredible performer, you sell it like no one can but you need to be sharper next time”. Carrie Ann ” It is another great performance, your upper body is great, but your bottom half wasn’t banging like your top half, it was low energy”. Dancing the Cha Cha Cha is Jack and Cheryl. Judges Comments: Bruno “It was cheeky Jack, I loved the rock star opening, very ambitious and you kept your timing. Just watch your hip action”. Carrie Ann “It was good, but not your best. You are taking big steps, watch your arms because they are not in hold”. Len “I love your commitment, you come out and give it plenty. Dancing the Charleston are Christina and Mark. Judges Comments: Carrie Ann “You have a dynamic range of emotion when you dance, it was a full body performance”. Len “I loved the music, I would have liked more Charleston parts but it was top notch”. Bruno “It was so inventive, it was fantastic and visually inspiring”. Dancing the Quick Step are Snooki and Sasha to “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”. Judges Comments: Len “This was your first ballroom dance and you have surprised me”. Bruno “You are always on fire, the difference in a week is unbelievable”. Carrie Ann “Tonight what you did out there blew me away, you deserve a star on the walk of fame”. Dancing Jazz are Bill N. and Tyne. Judges Comments: Bruno “I didn’t see any jazz, but it was entertaining”. Carrie Ann “Tonight we have seen incredible spirit, you have an incredible injury and I am very impressed”. Len “I thought Tyne did a terrific job and Bill had guts and determination to perform with that injury, it says a lot about the man”.
