Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are headed for a face-to-face Golden Globes showdown according to the diligent reporters at In Touch! Angelina Jolie’s feud with Jennifer Aniston (just like Angie’s feud with Amal Alamuddin) has never been explicitly commented on by either one of them, even though the media has blown it out of proportion for the last decade. It’s been almost ten years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and the ensuing love triangle rocked American media to its knees. Who can forget the scorned Jennifer Aniston, and the pictures of a frolicking Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the beach? But even though Jennifer Aniston’s spoken to the media about her end of the deal, Angelina and Brad have tried their best not to cause any more controversy by giving their thoughts on it. However, it has been ten years since Jennifer and Angelina came across each other in a mano-a-mano setting, and I’m sure Jennifer tried to resist the temptation to rip of Angelina’s facial skin.
According to the latest cover issue of In Touch Weekly, that’s not all that’s happening during this Golden Globes face-to-face showdown Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston confrontation. Apparently, Jennifer calls Angelina ‘repulsive’, Brad Pitt tries to stop them from meeting, and Angelina ‘refuses to back down‘. Welcome to Soap Opera 101: Brangelina edition.
Anyway, this showdown isn’t completely unexpected, considering that both Angelina Jolie AND Jennifer Aniston have their names bandied about for awards season. Sure, Angelina is a legitimate Oscar contender whereas Jennifer’s Oscar buzz is purely manufactured, but I digress. Even campaigning for awards season should bring them into the same room together, and I’m sure they’ll have plenty of silent confrontations and showdowns before ever getting the guts to say something to each other. But you know, if Angelina Jolie hates Jennifer Aniston and vice versa, then them fighting would only prolong the media obsession in their feud. Would they really want that? I’m not sure.
