Poor Kate Middleton. It must really suck to be a total fashionista and be at the total mercy of another person to choose a more appropriate wardrobe for public appearances. After a series of fashion disasters and more up-skirt moments than most attention seeking celebs would even welcome, Kate now has to get approval from Queen Elizabeth’s hand-picked bum guard before stepping out the door to greet her adoring public.

When she showed up today at the National Maritime at the Viaduct Basin in London, Kate looked absolutely stunning in a crisp white dress with black accents. She has seemed to drift back towards more form fitting, knee-grazing ensembles that make wind-gusts totally irrelevant — and it’s not by accident.

You better believe that when the palace hires someone to make sure that your butt is literally covered they are also going to overhaul your wardrobe as well. We know that Kate really loves floaty, empire waisted dresses but it’s pretty clear that those have been banned from her wardrobe for the forseeable future. How do you think all of these changes are actually sitting with the duchess? Does she care that her every move is subject to palace scrutiny now or is it the downside to being an undercover rebel?

Do you like Kate in a more streamlined look anyway? Does this look more dignified for a woman who could potentially be the next Queen of England or do you prefer when Kate let’s us see a bit of her own royalties?
