As The Bachelor 2015 gets our attention we still make time to report on Andi Dorfman and her failed fake relationship with Josh Murray. The recent split between The Bachelorette 2014 couple Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray may have shocked fans, but those close to the couple knew all too well that the engagement wouldn’t last. The Bachelorette couple decided to split and go their separate ways officially on January 8, but many close to the couple knew that the split was a long time coming.
Josh Murray, 30, and Andi Dorfman, 27, shocked fans with a formal announcement on January 16, only days after putting on a happy front at the season 19 premiere of The Bachelor 2015, where Chris Soules is seeking his “happily ever after.” It won’t be the first time, however, that Andi Dorfman has shocked fans of The Bachelorette. Dorfman famously left fans scratching their heads after she chose Josh Murray over love rival Nick Viall. Most were near certain Nick Viall would have been the one on bended knee on the ending of The Bachelorette. Indeed, even Nick Viall thought he had won the heart of Dorfman after he admitted on After the Final Rose that Dorfman had “made love” to him in the fantasy suite. That reveal was likely a catalyst in the breakup that came just five months after the drama on the memorable After the Final Rose unfolded.
Josh had a very difficult time digesting the fact that Andi had made love to his opponent on The Bachelorette and is marred the couple’s relationship for good. Josh couldn’t get over the fact that Andi could profess her love to him, yet she slept with Nick Viall just days before making her final decision. The fact that Andi slept with Nick was a shock to Josh and he was never able to completely get over it. Apparently his family was never able to get over her indecent behavior either, which was another source of contention between the couple.
Ironically, a statement from Andi Dorfman talked about leaning on family during the difficult time, “It’s family and friends who pick us up when we fall down. And if they can’t pick us up, they lie down next to us and just listen and love.” Unless of course the family is who helped push you down in the first place. CDL told you about the disdain the Murray family felt towards Dorfman. It is no secret that Josh’s family, including mom Lauren Goodhart Murray, and Kacie McDonnell who was engaged to Josh’s brother NFL Player Aaron Murray (until their recent breakup) hated Andi Dorfman.
Though Lauren Goodhart Murray posted the following message in response to the couple’s split announcement, there is no love lost between the family and Andi Dorfman, “Yes it’s true, Andi & Josh have chosen to break off their engagement. Although there was no one thing that precipitated their decision, they were thoughtful & wise in their decision and I’m happy they figured this out before getting married & having kids. The engagement time did it’s [SIC] job in helping them determine what’s best for them. I know we all wanted the storybook ending but I trust The Lord has an even better journey for each of them and that makes my heart happy,” reported People Magazine. There was also definite friction between the fiancé of Josh’s brother Aaron Murray, Kacie McDonnell, as Andi seemed to be quite jealous of her future sister-in-law, and Kacie thought Andi was sleazy for sleeping with Nick Viall before choosing Josh Murray on The Bachelorette. Now we hear that Andi is actually going after Aaron herself – she things she’ll have a better chance than with Chris Soules!
The couple released the obligatory joint statement explaining their split, “After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it’s best for both of us to go our separate ways. We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what’s best for both of us individually. We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best.” Murray shared a message of his own via Instagram, “Lord, help me to have faith in your plan.”
After the couple’s breakup, some fans were holding out hope for a reunion with Josh Murray’s former love rival, Nick Viall, but they shouldn’t hold their breath. A reunion between Andi Dorfman and Nick Viall will likely never happen, with Nick telling Reality TV Magazine, “I have moved on from my relationship with Andi, so there is certainly no interest from a romantic standpoint. If at some point we could be friends, I would certainly think that would be great.” Another reunion could prove to be more of a reality than a Nick-Andi reunion, as CDL shared that Andi has reached out to The Bachelor 2015 hunk Chris Soules after feeling regret over letting him go. It is quite apparent that Andi likes the bachelor with the spotlight on him.
