“The Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Robert Adamson is off contract at Y&R – another character is being dropped to recurring. Last week, it was reported that Sofia Pernas was taken off contract as Marisa. Now Marisa’s fiancé will be joining her in spending more time off screen.
According to Daytime Confidential, Robert Adamson (Noah) has been placed on recurring as well. The website notes that this was a storyline-related decision. DC’s Jamey Giddens claims that Chuck Pratt, Y&R’s head writer, “simply has run out of things to do with the characters for the foreseeable future.”
Kristoff St. John (Neil) also tweeted that we’d only be seeing his character around for a handful of appearances over the next couple of months. Lachlan Buchanan (Kyle) has already been pretty much non-existent on “The Young and the Restless” since he was placed on recurring status.
Buchanan recently sent out a tweet saying that it was his last day in Genoa City, but he deleted it a short time later.
Bottom line, The Young and the Restless spoilers sow that a lot of shakeups are going down on the CBS soap right now. However, it’s not all about making budget cuts. Y&R is actually adding some recurring roles right now. Perhaps it really is about lack of direction for these characters.
Robert Adamson and Sofia Pernas are currently wrapping up a big storyline. It looks like they won’t be getting a new one anytime soon. In fact, we have to wonder how much we’ll see them. On “The Young and the Restless,” recurring characters usually don’t pop up very much.
We’ll give you updates if we hear about any other actors being taken off contract.
So Y&R fans, what do you think about the news that Robert Adamson has been dropped to recurring? Do you feel that was the right move or would you rather see more of Noah? Could other actors face a similar fate?
