Bobbi Kristina Brown’s life and death are getting the TV biopic movie treatment. Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s daughter was found unresponsive in a bathtub in January 2015. Bobbi Kristina Brown was in a medical induced coma for several months until life support was removed and she died in hospice care in July 2015 at the age of 22. The TV One network announced their plans for the film at their annual upfront presentation.
The TV One film titled, ‘Bobbi Kristina’ will focus on her turbulent life behind the scenes with her famous parents. Disney Channel star Joy Rovaris will play Bobbi Kristina Brown while Daji Jeter will play her controversial boyfriend, Nick Gordon. Actress Demetria McKinney has been cast as Whitney Houston and Hassan Johnson will play Bobby Brown. Vivica A. Fox will play Pat Houston in a supporting role.
According to producers, the film will show an “intimate look at the highs and lows of parental, familial and romantic love complicated by fame through the eyes of a sensitive, vulnerable young woman. Bobbi Kristina’s high-profile life — and untimely death — may have been shrouded in mystery, but this film will reveal her humor, quirks, deepest fears and longings. This film explores her fight to be seen, heard, loved and to survive.”
An autopsy report showed that Bobbi Kristina reportedly had a mix of marijuana, alcohol, “a cocaine-related substance,” sedative and anti-anxiety medications and morphine in found in her system. Her manner of death has been classified as undetermined. Nevertheless, both of her parents were self-admitted drug addicts, and her life and death were tragic, to say the least.
Back in 2016, Nick Gordon was found legally responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s death after he failed to appear for a scheduled court date. He was accused of assault but also intentional infliction of emotional distress and transferring money from Bobbi Kristina Brown’s account to his own without authorization.
He was ordered to pay $36,250,000 in damages in a civil suit. Nick Gordon has not made any public comments about the case although insiders say that he hates how the media has made him into a scapegoat. Bobbi Kristina’s mother Whitney Houston died at the age of 48 after she was found unresponsive in her hotel room at the Beverly Hills hotel back in 2012 and cocaine was determined to play a major role in her death.
‘Bobbi Kristina’ is scheduled to premiere this summer on TV One. So far Bobbi Kristina’s father Bobby Brown has not made any comments about the project. Buzz on the net is that Bobbi was exploited in life and exploited in death – one would have hoped for some dignity for poor Bobbi Kristina.
