Jenna takes the stage. She introduces the judges; JLo, Derek, and Ne-Yo. The qualifiers continue. The junior contestant group, The Lab, is back. They hope to make it through this season. They take the stage. They nail it with a hip-hop performance that has the crowd going wild. Derek is thrilled. He calls them laser sharp. JLo calls them a force. Ne-Yo thinks they all danced tight. They need an 80 or better to get to the duals. They earn a 94.
Pasha and Daniella are from Russia. They have been married for 3 ½ years. Pasha left his brother behind in Russia who could not get a green card. It has come here to pursue his dream. They take the stage to dance ballroom. JLo thought they were sexy and dramatic. Ne-Yo loves their jeans and tank top attire. He would have liked them to be more competitive. Derek appreciates their quality of movement. JLo though they were both great. They score an 86.3. Ne-Yo tells them that they need to be better next time.
An all-male dance group named Connection from Mexico talk about what it is like to grow up in a rough neighborhood. JLo loved it. It was like Latino Hip-Hop. They were so suave. Derek agrees. Ne-Yo loved their transformation and uniformity. They earn a 90.7. Jenna hugs them backstage.
Charity and Andres are from Utah. They dance contemporary. They created a dream board as they worked to get to World of Dance. Jenna asks them how they prepared. They use stuffed animals to represent the judges. She laughs. They take the stage. They dance to Ed Sheeran. The crowd erupts. The judges stand. JLo thinks they are so cute. They danced like they were one person. They have magic. Derek thinks they were so together. They were elegant and beautiful. Ne-Yo assumes they are a couple. They aren’t. He believed they were. They score 95.3.
BDash and Konkrete are from California. They love krumping with some choreo. They both have kids. They want to show them they can make it anywhere with determination and hard work. They take the stage. The judges clap. JLo thought they were so gritty yet smooth. It was another level. Ne-Yo wants to know how to they choreographed Krump. Derek thinks they worked hard and it paid off. They score 94.3.
The Fabulous Sisters are from Japan. World of Dance is their dream. The dance studio because their safe haven after a tsunami devastated their home and they couldn’t play outside. They take the stage in black leotards with red dresses. Derek loved it. It was so dramatic and theatrical. The roll-offs where so clean. Ne-Yo loves their statement. JLo thought it was special and chaotic. The precision was beautiful. They score a 94.7. They cry and jump up and down with joy.
