The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kerry Johnson (Alice Hunter) will leave some Genoa City residents feeling duped and burned. She was apparently sent to worm her way into Jabot, score a prime position and set the stage for a looming betrayal. This is obviously a rewrite to usher Kerry off canvas, but Y&R did a nice job of making it fit with some previous details.
It was smart of Kerry to support Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) early on and help her gain the CEO position. Then, Kerry presented herself as an alluring, mysterious woman to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Before long, Kerry was Phyllis’ trusted confidant and Jack was completely infatuated. She just had to wait for the perfect opportunity to arise, which came through an attempt to oust Phyllis.
Kerry’s been working all the angles she can and will drop a bomb on the Abbotts – most likely through Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) announcement on Friday. Ash’s revelation will leave everyone at Jabot reeling, so there’s a good chance she’s Kerry’s boss. There’s an even better chance that Phyllis is getting fired over this.
Phyllis was already on thin ice after sparking a major scandal through her immunity deal. The other ladies eventually walked free, but that doesn’t change the fact that Phyllis’ name was all over the media. We can only imagine the scathing headlines about this traitor. Now Phyllis has left Jabot even more vulnerable by trusting Kerry. It looks like extensive damage will be done, so Phyllis has gotta go!
Of course, we have to consider what Phyllis will do in the aftermath of all this. She can be a pretty cutthroat gal when she wants to be. Phyllis might lick her wounds for a while along with Jack, who’ll feel equally responsible. He trusted Kerry as well and that mistake will affect his family’s legacy. However, you can’t keep someone like Phyllis down for long.
Will Phyllis ultimately seek revenge on Kerry and possibly Ashley? A move like that would certainly be right up Phyllis’ alley. It could spark a great storyline down the road. Phyllis may not be able to get the CEO spot back, but vengeance could be pretty satisfying on its own.
Davidson is only back for a two-day stint right now, but she could always do some other popups later. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kerry’s part of the story will be left open-ended, too. When a fan said she hoped Kerry would return one day, Hunter seemed optimistic. “They definitely left it wide open and made sure I knew so,” Hunter replied on Twitter.
It’s only fair that Kerry gets what she’s got coming at some point! The Young and the Restless spoilers say some hot drama’s ahead, so don’t miss what’s in store.
