General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that things are shifting between Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West). GH fans know Ava and Nikolas slept together, so that was a huge turning point on its own. It shows their attraction to each other had become more than they could bear.
However, we’re also seeing a shift in Nikolas and Ava’s hearts. They were almost bonding as a cute fam at the cabin with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), who wanted Nikolas to tuck her in.
Nikolas’ sweet stepdaddy side was on full display after they all caught fireflies together, but we can think of at least one person who wouldn’t be happy about this adorableness.
What would Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) have to say? Spencer would surely be appalled since he originally wanted Nikolas to divorce Ava over her deal with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Nikolas negotiated with Spencer, so they decided to team up on a plan to get Nik out of the marriage with the Cassadine fortune intact.
Clearly, that plan isn’t going very well. Nikolas hooked up with Ava and has been acting like a doting second dad to Avery, so Spencer won’ be pleased if he gets updates.
This wasn’t what they agreed to! Could Spencer ultimately come to town and try to get Nikolas back on track? Spencer might want to unleash his fury and remind Nikolas of what’s at stake.
Many General Hospital fans would love to see Spencer again – and this would be the perfect opportunity to get him more involved in the story. Spencer could try to strengthen Nikolas’ resolve to get out of this marriage as a rich man.
Spencer wouldn’t want Nik losing to Ava or becoming one half of some twisted powercouple with her.
Of course, we also know photos were snapped of Ava’s kiss with Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Nikolas’ kiss with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). It’s possible Spencer hired someone to monitor Ava and hopefully score evidence that would help Nikolas.
Spencer might’ve had Nikolas watched, too – just to make sure his father wasn’t blowing it.
Since Nikolas let Spencer believe he was dead for years, there’s obviously no real trust between them. Spencer would have a motive to keep an eye on Nikolas’ behavior and might give him an earful over risking everything for a kiss with Liz. If Spencer’s behind the pics, we may know soon enough.
It’d be great if Spencer could resurface in Port Charles eventually. Spencer might even land in Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) path through his connections to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Danger could be on the horizon!
There are tons of fantastic reasons to put Spencer back in the action, so we’ll see if it happens down the road. As other GH news rolls in, we’ll keep you in the loop.
