General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Julian Jerome (William deVry) is stuck in a terrible position right now. Out of all the women in the world, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) ranks up there as one of the worst Julian could possibly be married to. Julian hates Nelle with a passion – just like almost everyone else in Port Charles. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is the only character who’s even on the fence about the kind of person Nelle is.
Now that Julian and Nelle have tied the knot, how’s Julian going to handle that? Since Nelle is blackmailing Julian, he’ll have to play by her rules. Nelle is treating this custody battle like a competition in many ways – and that’s why she dashed off to find herself a husband after Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) got a new wife.
Marrying Julian clearly hurt Nelle’s case, but she couldn’t stand the idea of Michael having a marital advantage with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). No matter how this custody battle plays out, Nelle and Julian will have to stay married for a while.
If Nelle wins full or joint custody, she’ll have to deliver on this loving two-parent home she promised. If Nelle loses, she’ll undoubtedly fight the judge’s ruling. Either way, Nelle will need to present the image of stability with Julian.
Of course, there’s a good chance Nelle will walk away with some custody rights here. Nelle is Wiley’s biological mother, and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) hasn’t really proven that Nelle deserves to be cut out of Wiley’s life. Her strategy was about making Michael and Willow look good for the most part, which might’ve been the wrong angle to work.
Regardless, what happens once Julian and Nelle settle into married life? It’s one thing to throw on a suit, marry Nelle and head to court. It’s quite another to spend your days and nights dealing with Nelle as your new wife! Julian may be forced to live with Nelle under the circumstances, so that sounds like a full-blown nightmare.
To make matters worse, Julian’s pariah status has been cranked up a notch due to this marriage. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Lucas Jones (Ryan Jones) certainly hate Julian’s guts for tying the knot with Nelle. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is long gone, so who will Julian turn to for support?
GH may bring back the Julian and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) hookup they’ve been dangling. The possibility of Brook Lynn and Julian falling in bed together has been there from the get-go. Amanda Setton’s first scenes in the role of Brook Lynn were with Julian, and General Hospital’s been dancing around this duo ever since.
Now that everybody else has turned against Julian, Brook Lynn is the only one who’ll truly understand why he married Nelle. That could give Julian and Brook Lynn a reason to grow closer.
Then again, Julian might blame Brook Lynn for running her big mouth and giving Nelle an opportunity to overhear. That’d still bring the potential for a rage-fueled bedroom session.
Julian’s trapped in a loveless marriage, so he may be poised to cheat with Brook Lynn and let off some steam. If Nelle finds out, she probably wouldn’t be too happy about that.
Nelle might end up being pretty possessive of Julian, even if this is just an arrangement for custody’s sake. Julian’s betrayal would likely infuriate his new wife!
