The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, April 21, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will remain proud of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) when she visits him at the office. Chelsea will feel like Adam did what he had to do and is Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) equal. Of course, Adam won’t think Victor’s ever going to acknowledge that.
Even so, Chelsea will think Adam won. Once Chelsea exits, Adam will take a call about how he intends to carry on Victor’s legacy. At the ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will understand why Victor didn’t fight back against Adam. However, Nikki will also have concerns about Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) story and the trouble it could bring.
Victor will point out that Alyssa got several things wrong, so he won’t expect the story to go public. Nevertheless, Nikki will be upset over how all of this is affecting Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).
After Victor leaves, Victoria will arrive and drop a bomb on Nikki. Since Victoria can’t trust that the situation is temporary, she’ll plan to take matters into her own hands with Alyssa’s help.
Victoria will talk about exposing Adam’s lies, but Nikki will warn that this is more delicate than Victoria realizes. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki will finally break down and tell Victoria the big secret. Once Victoria’s in the loop, she’ll think it explains so much.
Back with Alyssa, she’ll get a menacing visit from Victor. If Alyssa moves forward with publishing the story anywhere, Victor will vow to ruin her life. Once Victor explains why, a panicked Alyssa will start packing up her belongings in her suite.
When Victor reconvenes with Nikki, he’ll explain that he spoke with Alyssa and got reassurance that the story wouldn’t be published. Nikki will make a shocking confession moments later. Y&R spoilers say Nikki will stun Victor by revealing that she told Victoria the truth.
At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) baby shower will get underway. Chloe and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will be joined by Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) Chelsea and Esther Valentine (Kate Linder).
Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and Bella Fisher (Martie Blair) will also make appearances, but they’ll quickly dash off to play. As for Chloe and Esther, they’ll talk about Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) and how they can feel her spirit with them. There’ll also be talk about a baby name, but Chloe and Kevin will admit they haven’t picked one just yet.
After a game and a toast, Chelsea will take a call from Adam. She’ll offer praise since Adam’s interview went well. Adam will also be glad Chelsea and Chloe are moving past the tension that was once between them. Once Adam expresses his love, he’ll hang up and let Chelsea return to the festivities.
Chloe will get some presents for the baby, including a stuffed blue dinosaur from Connor. She’ll think her son will look up to Connor once he arrives. Kevin will also give Chloe a charm bracelet, so that’ll make this shower extra special. Afterward, Chloe will get Kevin’s approval and ask Chelsea to be their son’s godmother. An honored Chelsea will be all in on the idea.
At the penthouse, Victoria will pay Adam a visit and note that there’s a lot he doesn’t know. She’ll point out that Victor made this awfully easy for Adam and will suggest Adam must wonder about why.
Adam will think Victoria needs to accept the outcome of all this, but Victoria will offer a warning. This isn’t going to end well for Adam. Victoria will hint that she might feel sorry for Adam if he wasn’t so vindictive.
Adam will obviously be rattled since he’ll make a beeline to the ranch, where he’ll want answers about Victor’s plans. When Adam threatens to release the story unless he gets an ironclad contract, Nikki will snap that Adam’s father has been trying to protect him.
Victor will admit this wasn’t something he wanted Adam to know. He’ll reveal the truth about what happened to AJ Montalvo: Adam’s the one who killed Alyssa’s father. Back in Alyssa’s suite, she’ll be making plans for her flight when Victoria shows up. Alyssa will insist she’s leaving and will confess that Victor was there earlier.
