General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) may find Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) watch and reunite an emotional Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) with the final link to his father. We surely haven’t seen the last of Phyllis or that watch, so it makes sense to bring them together here.
Phyllis knows how much that watch mattered to Sonny. It’s even how Sonny picked a name to use while he was in Nixon Falls. Sonny’s inherited watch was a huge part of the story, so it was strange when he suddenly decided to throw it away.
GH writers will surely work that watch back into Sonny’s storyline somehow. The Tan-O burned down completely, so Phyllis is no doubt feeling lost and alone.
That’s especially true since Phyllis is still grieving the death of Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) – and now Sonny as well as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) are gone, too.
It’s easy to imagine Phyllis wanting a sense of purpose and perhaps going on a watch hunt. Phyllis might decide this is at least one thing she can fix and try to track that watch down.
Then again, it could be another case of fate bringing Phyllis and “Mike” together. Maybe the watch will turn up when Phyllis least expects it and leave her thinking it’s a bit of a miracle.
Sonny seemingly threw that watch in the river, but there’s certainly a chance for it to resurface.
If Peter August (Wes Ramsey) can survive a fall that should’ve killed him and seem perfectly fine in Greece days later, anything’s possible! Somehow, some way – that watch just might end up in Phyllis’ hands.
During the week of October 4-8, Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will get a visitor they aren’t expecting.
What if Phyllis shows up to return the watch? It’d be a convenient excuse to get Phyllis in Port Charles, where grateful Sonny could push his friend to stay.
Phyllis is a nurse, so she could work at GH and build a new life for herself in PC. Sonny might even suggest purchasing Charlie’s Pub as a new version of The Tan-O. He could insist it’d be a way to keep Lenny’s memory alive.
Regardless, that watch is probably going to be found by someone. Phyllis would be the most logical candidate, so we’ll see if she comes through for Sonny once again. As other news emerges, we’ll provide updates.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny needs to properly repay Phyllis for her kindness, but she may have another good deed to do first!
