The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 14, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will find Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) as the wedding begins. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will also pick Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) dress, so here’s how things will play out on Thursday’s Y&R episode.
Victoria will wake up on cloud nine with Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) and will assure him that no one else’s opinion matters. Ashland and Victoria will look forward to tying the knot as they enjoy breakfast together.
When Victoria mentions she woke up in the middle of the night and saw that Ashland was gone, he’ll admit he got restless and went for a walk around the grounds.
After Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives to help the bride get ready, Ashland will leave to get ready as well.
Victoria will tell Nikki this is going to be the most incredible day of her entire life. She’ll know that things have been complicated due to the revelations about Ashland’s past, but she’ll be certain of the love between them.
That’ll be good enough for Nikki, who just wanted Victoria to be sure about the marriage.
Over with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), he’ll quiz Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about Gaines. Billy will get the feeling Victor doesn’t know where Gaines is either and is just as worried about what he might do.
Victor will blame Billy for bringing Gaines in the first place and will tell Victoria’s ex to get lost.
Afterward, Billy will return to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and express concern over the Gaines situation. He’ll warn that Gaines is either in hiding and waiting for his revenge or else something happened to him.
As for Sally, she’ll be in her running clothes when she finds Adam. Sally will discuss her nerves over the dress drama and will be too wound up for breakfast, so Adam will suggest taking the path to the end of the ridge for a spectacular view.
After Adam gets dressed for the wedding, Victor will scold him for bringing Sally. Adam will defend Sally as someone who deserves another chance and will think Gaines is their real problem.
Over with Nick, he’ll tell Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) he’s determined to make things right with Victoria. Nick will offer a lackluster apology for the tension last night, so Phyllis won’t be very impressed with it.
Later, Nick will shock Phyllis by revealing he’s decided not to attend the wedding ceremony. Phyllis won’t get abrupt change of heart since she thought Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) got through to his dad.
Nevertheless, Phyllis will try to accept that it’s Nick’s call. She’ll just feel awkward going alone since it’ll be weird if she shows up and weird if she doesn’t.
Nick will push Phyllis to attend and will admit he’s still thinking about whether he’s going to the reception. He’ll thank Phyllis to for understanding, but it’ll be obvious that she doesn’t.
Meanwhile, Noah will tell Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) a wild story about an art exhibit that went wrong.
Noah will also admit he’s feeling like a change of pace. He’ll suggest that perhaps there’s no place like home and will confirm he’s considering a move back to Genoa City.
Sally will walk over and acknowledge the awkwardness before she congratulates Summer and Kyle on their wedding.
Kyle will ask what Sally’s even doing there, so she’ll mention being Adam’s date and will argue that they both want this day to be perfect for the Newmans.
Sally will exchange introductions with Noah, who’ll reveal that he’s Summer’s brother.
Sally will guess that Noah has heard about her already, but she’ll insist some of it is true and some of it isn’t.
As far as this wedding day goes, Sally will think it’s best if they all try to be pleasant and civil.
After Ashland and Victor discuss the missing Gaines situation, Ashland will have some trouble breathing.
Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will check on Ashland, who’ll gush over Victoria and calm down as he talks about her unconditional love. That’ll leave Nate smiling over the positive effect Victoria has on Ashland.
Next, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will confront Adam about bringing Sally as a date to this event.
Adam will think Jack needs to ask himself what the real reason is for his objection. Sally will appear and ask if her ears should be burning, but Jack will cut the conversation short and take off.
Adam will feel like Sally had better hurry up and get changed for her big dress pitch, so she’ll rush off and do just that.
Back in Victoria’s room, she’ll freak when she unzips her garment bag and realizes it’s not her dress. After studying the dress for a moment, Victoria will admit it’s breathtaking.
Nikki will encourage Victoria to try the dress on before she exits and fills Victor in on the dress issue.
Over with Sally again, she’ll get a “wow” out of Adam when she shows off her wedding look. Sally will jokingly hope Adam means that strictly in a professional sense.
After Sally takes off for the next phase of her plan, Summer will confront Adam and assume something’s going on.
Once Sally knocks on Victoria’s door and admits this is about the dress, Victoria will let her in.
Sally will confess to switching the gowns out and will assure Victoria this is the one she should wear. She’ll explain how she designed every detail with Victoria’s elegance and essence in mind.
Sally will add that she still has the other dress, but she’ll want Victoria to try this one on first. She’ll feel certain Victoria’s going to fall in love with it.
A frustrated Victoria will tell Sally to bring her old dress and hang it on the door, so Sally will leave looking glum.
In the hallway, Nick will spot Billy and rub his failed plan in his face. Billy will admit to making a bad bet that didn’t pay off and will assure Nick he doesn’t have any last-minute fireworks planned.
As for Phyllis, she’ll spread the word about Nick deciding not to attend. Noah will want to talk to Nick again, but Phyllis will make it clear that there’s no getting through to him.
Sally will rejoin Adam, but the wedding will begin before she can explain what went down with Victoria.
Nikki, Nate and Ashland will all take their places before Victoria appears wearing Sally’s dress. Summer will whisper about how stunning the gown is and will wonder who designed it.
Nearby, Adam will tell Sally “well done” as they both enjoy their big win. Once Victor comes out, he’ll tell Victoria he adores her and will prepare to walk her down the aisle.
Finally, Gaines will resurface as he sneaks in a room and peers out the window. Nick will be right behind Gaines and will demand some answers.
“Who are you? And what the hell are you doing in here?” Nick will ask angrily.
