General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Will Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) save Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) life? Will Willow’s fraternal twin be her bone marrow donor match down the road? It’s a possibility to consider based on the latest clues, so let’s mull it over.
For starters, Chloe Lanier will be reprising her role as Nelle Benson during the week of September 5-9.
We’d say that’ll be for the September 7 episode since that’s when Willow will have a horrible dream while Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) deals with her past.
There’s a good chance Nelle will be at the center of Willow’s nightmare while Nina imagines a conversation with Nelle in the cemetery.
Although Chloe Lanier’s return is just a brief one for now, we have to wonder what the show might be building to with this appearance.
Why bother bringing Nelle back? It just seems like there has to be a deeper explanation.
Since fans were never able to see Nelle’s corpse for themselves, that raises questions about whether she really died in that shocking cliff tumble.
After Willow dreams of Nelle and Nina most likely imagines her, will the show also reveal that Nelle is alive?
If so, that could pave the way for Nelle to return for a longer stint when the time is right.
Just like when Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) was revealed to be alive at the end of an episode, GH might offer proof of Nelle’s survival now.
Maybe Nelle is secretly in disguise on the run.
Willow was diagnosed with leukemia and could easily need a bone marrow donor match later on. What if “evil” fraternal twin Nelle ends up being the match that could help Willow pull through?
That’d be quite the twist and would give Nelle a bargaining chip. Nelle might demand dropped charges before she’ll even think about helping Willow and seek a legal deal.
Perhaps Nelle could even push for custody rights when it came to Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver).
That doesn’t mean all of Nelle’s demands would be met, but she’d at least have some leverage since Willow’s survival would depend on her.
Soaps often use situations like this to help characters get off the hook for crimes – especially when you have other characters like Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) who are willing to bribe or threaten the right people in charge.
There’s the potential for Nelle’s short-term gig to lead to a much longer one if all goes well.
