Days of Our Lives Recap: Wednesday, July 26 – Awful New Love Matches, Pre-Wedding Rejection and Second Chance Romance

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 26, reveals that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) tried to initiate lovemaking with Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte), but he seemed jumpy and physically pushed Gwen away.

That left Gwen upset, but Dimitri insisted there was so much to do before the wedding and wound up dashing off to run some errands.

When Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) returned, Gwen worried there wouldn’t be a wedding at all and opened up about how Dimitri had rejected her.

Leo convinced Gwen that she was overreacting and should proceed with the nuptials as planned, so she hugged her bestie and thanked him for all the support.

At Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Stephanie Johnson’s (Abigail Klein) apartment, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) once again made a pest of himself by pushing them to decide on a shirt for his blind date.

Chad finally picked option one and slammed the door in Alex’s face.

Later, Dimitri showed up to personally invite Chad and Stephanie to his wedding, but they just hurled insults over Dimitri and Gwen’s past transgressions.

Once Chad slammed the door on Dimitri too, he admitted to Stephanie that something seemed seriously off about that wedding.

Back in Gwen’s suite, Dimitri returned and patched things up with her. Gwen was sorry for her earlier behavior and admitted that Leo talked her off the ledge.

Since Gwen had to go take care of something at The Spectator on Wednesday’s Days episode, she advised Dimitri and Leo to play nice while she was gone.

Dimitri liked the sound of that and pounced on Leo for passion, but Leo pumped the brakes since he felt so guilty about keeping secrets from Gwen.

However, Dimitri argued that what Gwen didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her and dove in for more kisses after removing his coat.

Just outside the Salem Inn on Wednesday’s Days episode, Gwen realized she’d forgotten her phone and headed back to her suite for it.

At Small Bar, Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) and Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) bickered when they assumed the matchmaker set them up on a second-chance date.

It turned out that wasn’t really the case when a quirky woman named Connie Viniski showed up after matching with Li.

Connie bored Li with the news that she was “gluten wary” and didn’t seem to have anything in common with him at all.

As for Melinda, she was surprised when Alex arrived as her own date for the evening.

Things started off well enough, but then Alex rambled about therapy and how he blew it with the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Melinda eventually admitted this wasn’t going anywhere since Alex talked too much and kept taking his glasses on and off – not to mention he was still in love with Stephanie.

Li seemed jealous as he watched Melinda and Alex together, but Connie assumed he was angry with the DA for trying to take him down.

Connie confessed to loving bad boys and being a true crime podcast addict, so she wanted Li to take her somewhere more private.

That way, Li could tell Connie all about how he tried to take out Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Li bailed on Connie and rejoined Melinda later, so they realized their new dates didn’t work out.

Melinda suggested Li could share the bottle of wine she ordered since Alex was too busy talking to eat or drink anything.

Trask also hinted that Li could pat her down for a wire, so he flirted by acting like that sounded appealing – though he ultimately clarified that he meant the wine.

Back with Chad and Stephanie, they were on their way out to dinner when Alex appeared in the hall following his bad blind date.

Alex planned to order a pizza, but Chad reluctantly asked if he wanted to come to the pub with them.

Although Alex initially pretended he didn’t want to intrude, he quickly decided to tag along and get some chowder.

Stephanie kissed Chad on the cheek like she appreciated his kindness toward Alex.

At the hospital on Wednesday’s DOOL show, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) joined Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) along with Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).

Once EJ got updates on Sloan pregnancy, he thought that was wonderful news and shook Eric’s hand.

EJ kept cracking bad jokes, so Nicole later confronted him for gushing over Sloan and Eric’s baby.

After EJ denied it and acted like Nicole was the one with the problem, she admitted her issue was with Sloan.

Nicole said Eric was having a baby with a tarantula, but she understood this was out of her hands.

EJ seemed pleased as Nicole assured him that she was only focused on them and their baby.

Back at the hospital on Wednesday’s Days episode, Sloan waited in an exam room for her first prenatal appointment with Eric by her side.

Eric mentioned that EJ was getting genetic testing done and thought it was something they could do, too.

Sloan struggled to hide how panicked she was over this genetic thing with EJ and the possibility that her paternity deception could be exposed.

Nevertheless, Sloan managed to cover and act like she was just worried about Nicole’s baby due to her history of miscarriages.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Sloan will deal with some other tight spots in the coming episodes, so stay tuned to DOOL.
