In tonight’s Welcome to Plathville episode, Lydia was getting engaged. She met her boyfriend in church. He sought and has already received Barry’s permission to propose to Lydia. Only Lydia’s brothers were concerned. Lydia has known Zac for three months. Ethan thought that was too fast to commit to someone.
He also suspected that Zac might be gay. He was hoping his parents would put a stall on this wedding and it doesn’t look like anyone can stop it. It was full steam ahead with Lydia. Ethan and Micah still had their misgivings. Moriah was staying out of it.
Moriah said she was done interfering. She was only talking to Ethan now because she apologized. He was chasing her around a parking lot to get her away from her toxic ex and she couldn’t accept it. Worse, she got back together with the guy. She made everyone else out to be a bad guy for trying to protect her.
She called Veronica a liar. She made Barry call Veronica untruthful and that’s still calling her a liar. It put Micah in such a horrible position. He was living with Veronica. They just bought a house together. And now she was feuding with his family because of Moriah.
Moriah sent a letter. She never called or visited to say the words she needed to say. Veronica was left hurt by that because she thought they were closer than this. Veronica was now lashing out and Micah was stuck in the middle. Micah didn’t know she was in contact with Olivia.
Olivia reached out to Veronica after she heard that Veronica was getting bullied online. She’s a tall girl and some have accused her of being trans. It wasn’t true. Not that it mattered to haters who keep calling her a man or freak just for being tall.
Olivia reaching out after Veronica had badmouth her showed she was a bigger person. Veronica then got to know her. She thought Olivia was kind. She understood some of what Olivia was feeling inside of the Plath family. They kept messaging each other. They’ve now facetimed each other.
Olivia understood her frustrations with Moriah. Moriah and Olivia were super close until the cemetery. They visited Moriah’s late brother’s grave and Olivia was afraid to get out of the car because the rest of Ethan’s family was there. And they didn’t like her.
Moriah then accused Olivia of being a thief. She said some horrible things about Ethan as well. They made up after Ethan got divorced and now he was dating someone else. His new girlfriend was smoking hot. He doesn’t like talking about Olivia or thinking about Olivia. Olivia herself hasn’t discussed him. She mentioned her fallout with Moriah to Veronica. She asked Veronica if Micah knew they were in communication and Veronica took accountability. He didn’t know so far. She was going to tell him. She was even willing to say it was all her because that was the truth.
Veronica may be angrier than she should be, but that’s coming from a place of hurt. Ethan was right about it. He tried to tell her to apologize to Veronica. Moriah kept saying she didn’t know how and that wasn’t true. Veronica called her for a while after the blowup. Moriah never took her calls or responded to the messages. Now, Veronica felt done with Micah’s family. She tried and she felt she got nothing back. She didn’t see how much pressure this was putting on Micah. He couldn’t start a life with Veronica just to never have her at family functions or his family at his home.
It wasn’t easy loving a Plath man. Take Kim. Kim was still getting divorced after years. She was putting court fees on credit cards and getting in debt. She’s taken a job as a hostess. Barry was earning ten times what she does. He has the career. She supported him through that career for twenty-five years and raised ten kids. It was one thing to hold up the divorce because he wanted to fight for their marriage. Only that didn’t seem true anymore. Barry it seems was holding up the divorce until the younger kids turned eighteen. He refuses to pay child support.
Barry won’t even help out now that he sees Kim struggling. Kim has a DUI on her record. She had to do community service, pay court fees, and couldn’t drive for a year. She luckily didn’t hurt anyone or herself. None of which seemed to matter to Barry. He never once checked up on her. He didn’t care that she was drinking more. He didn’t care that his children might have been around the drinking. He saw her falling apart and never once spoke to the older kids about supporting their mom through this hard time. Barry saw the divorce as a fight. With winning and losing. He told her that it was going to be a fight when she said she wanted the divorce.
Barry claims he won’t pay child support until the divorce is settled. It’s not getting settled because he keeps dragging out the divorce. Barry thinks he’s slick with what he’s doing. He failed to see plenty of women sees themselves in Kim’s shoes. She was fifty now having to start over. She had to rejoin the workforce after thirty years. Still, no sympathy from that man. He felt nothing after she confronted him. She finally had enough and decided to have that conversation and Barry wouldn’t give her the money. They had already agreed on how much in alimony. And he waiting for things to be settled.
Now Veronica was fighting with Micah. They were fighting because Micah has cheated on Veronica several times and she always stood up for him. She even blamed herself for what happened yet Micah can’t stick up for her with his family. The cheating, the online bullying, and now this feud with Moriah has their relationship falling apart. She was not in the mood to go to the secret proposal that Zac was throwing for Lydia. And where he invited her whole family.
The last part was a bad idea that was getting worse with each episode.
THE END!
