The suicide death of Cathriona White has come as a shock to everyone but all eyes are on Jim Carrey right now. Jim and Cathriona broke up just four days prior to her tragic suicide and a lot of people think the break up is the reason Cathriona took her own life. The “Ace Ventura” star has issued a statement about Cathriona’s death and he is obviously very upset about the loss.
After Cathriona’s death, Jim spoke of his deceased ex-girlfriend in a loving and careful way. Jim referred to his ex as a “delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil.” It sounds like a really nice way of saying that she wasn’t very stable.
A statement was issued through Jim Carrey’s rep that reads, “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
The couple dated on and off for three years according to reports. Jim and Cathriona met and started dating in 2012 but broke up soon after. They reconnected in May and started dating again until a sudden break up in September. The reason for their final split is unknown.
While it is completely believable that Jim Carrey is “saddened” by his ex-girlfriend’s death, we’re not buying that he was as “shocked” as he said. There has to be a reason that Carrey dated White for a few months, broke it off and then went back a few years later to break it off again within months.
Cathriona White was found dead on Monday in her Los Angeles home. Initial reports suggest that White died of an apparent drug overdose. There was a suicide note found at the scene and it was addressed to Jim Carrey.
It looks as if Cathriona planned out her death and made sure to say her goodbyes. The makeup artist even took to Twitter and left this message, “Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest. to yo[sic] all.” This message was posted on September 24, which happens to be the same day Cathriona and Jim broke up.
Carrey hasn’t taken to Twitter to talk about Cathriona White’s death. His last post was on September 16 and features a photo credited to Cathriona. The September 1 post to Jim Carrey’s Twitter also included a photo credited to White.
