On tonight’s AGT: The Champions season 2 episode 5 “Semi-Finals″, as per the NBC synopsis, “12 finalists perform for judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Alesha Dixon, and Howie Mandel. Six of these renowned acts will move on to the finals – five will be voted through by a panel of “AGT” Superfans and one will be the Judges’ Choice.”

Terry takes the stage and gets the crowd pumped up before introducing the judges. First up, an Australian comedian, Julian. He talks about his dream to come to Hollywood. He takes the stage and gets some digs in at the judges; calling Simon cold. The audience goes wild with laughter.
Twelve-year-old Tyler, a violinist, is set to take the stage next after sharing that he has beat cancer. After his emotional performance, he is given a standing ovation.
Next up, a magician, named X. Instead of appearing on stage, he appears between the ladies, scaring Heidi. He takes the stage and asks Terry to sit. He covers his face and eyes. He asks Terry to where he just tapped him, although he never did lay a hand on him. He also asks Terry several questions with the answers in a box that was left with Heidi. He gets them all right. For the most part, X gets approval from the judges except Heidi and Simon who believe he needs to up his game.
Duo Destiny takes the stage to show off their competitive, gutsy dance moves. Within seconds the audience is on the edge of their seats, gasping in between tricks, twirling and insane showcases of strength and heights. The judges stand, clapping, along with the rest of the room. Heidi thinks they were insane. The rest of the judges agree although Howie feels like they could have changed their moves up a bit.
Han returns. He doesn’t care what Simon said about his first performance. He is back and with a vengeance. He takes the stage. He shares that he is going to be the winner of AGT 2020. Like a phoenix, he will rise from the ashes. Wearing a sparkly white catsuit, he sings Bang Bang Into The Room, dedicating to Heidi. He and his crew of women dance and get the crowd going. In the end, Simon is the only one sitting calmly, rolling his eyes. All of the judges loved the act and Simon!
Diana Diaz takes the stage next to show off her magic tricks. She takes a quick picture with the judges. She takes out a deck of cards and shows off some tricks. The judges are impressed as she continues her tricks while talking about leaving her home country. The judges loved her and hope the super fans will vote so she can contact on.
Duo Transcend is back and with an all-new performance to step up their game. They start hanging from a trapeze with fire below. After some serious moves, they drop to the ground. They both don roller skates, dancing and whipping each other about before putting on a blindfold. Simon is beyond impressed as well as the rest of the judges. Howie believes that has officially transcended!
A winner of Africa’s Got Talent, Strauss, a dancer, is here to try and win AGT. He hits the stage and moves his body in ways most people can’t, bending and twisting in unbelievable ways that have the crowd gasping and closing their eyes. For his finale, he contorts his body, fitting into a tiny bucket. The judges cannot believe it except for Simon who didn’t get that “wow” factor this time. But he hopes to see him at the finals.
A comedian, Ryan, is back for a second time. Since his first appearance, he has been traveling with his act on the road and finding success and he isn’t going to lose. He makes his way down the aisle with beautiful dancers. He dances onto the stage, getting a smile from Simon. He breaks right into the jokes about his looks and his disability.
Alexa, a young performer, is nervous and hopes to make it to the finals. She takes the stage with her troop of trained dogs, showing off their tricks. The judges stand, smiles are everywhere. Simon loved it! They all did and they hope to see her move forward.
Sandou Trio Russian Bar is here to show off their bat tricks. The trio takes the stage having returned a second time. They show off their gutsy tricks that feature fire, dangerous jumps, and moves that require strength and stamina. The audience loved them. The judges are impressed too, hoping the super fans vote.
Marcelito is up next, a singer from the Philippines. He talks about being a dad and provider for his family. He needs to make this work, he cannot go home. He takes the stage to a sea of lighters flickering in the audience. His voice makes everyone swoon with tones high and low. Simon watches him intently. Howie believes he has the best shot at winning. Simon loves him but thinks he needs to up his game if he wants to win.
The super fans’ votes have been locked in with all six acts moving forward. Terry is now ready to announce the finalists. Hans has made it! Tyler has also secured a spot while Julian will go home. Marcelito has also made it. Alex and her talented dogs make it through. Sandou Trio Russian Bar will also be performing in the finals as well as Duo Transcend after being chosen by the judges!
