Looking to shake things up, Nic and Conrad head to a drag bar where they run into a friend Evan. They sit in the front row watching the performance when the star performer, Doll E. Wood, collapses. They rush her to Chastain.
Devon and AJ work on a baby who has extensive heart issues. The baby is related to Devon’s girlfriend, Nadine, who is a princess. Baby Farard needs multiple surgeries as he isn’t getting much oxygen in his blood.
Devon and Nadine walk and talk. Nadine’s father, the king, has asked her to return home tomorrow.
AJ and another doctor run labs for the baby and realize surgery needs to happen asap. They have called in a special cardiac surgeon for the job. Devon heads to get her and sees she is giving herself oxygen and fluids. She is sick.
Conrad has been running tests and notices Doll E. Wood has hypercalcemia. Nic visits with a young woman and her very pushy, territorial boyfriend. They take her for an echo after they suspect she may be a victim of human trafficking.
During the baby’s surgery, AJ and Devon notice the surgeon is making mistakes. AJ has to intervene when they realize she is impaired. AJ tells the surgeon she needs to submit to a blood draw if she wants to prove she hasn’t been drinking.
Bell and Evan tell Doll E. Wood that she needs surgery on her parathyroid and it could change her voice. She doesn’t know if she wants to do it.
Conrad and Nic talk to the young girl alone to see if she is in danger. She denies it at first and then begins to cry. She shows them a tattoo.
Doll E. Wood refuses the surgery but Bell talks her into it. Meanwhile, Nic and Conrad get the young girl to tell them what happened. She ran away and was turned into a prostitute. As Conrad leaves the room to call child services, he is attacked by the man who has been forcing her to prostitute. Conrad fights back and holds the man until security comes.
AJ and Devon have no other choice but to get the doctor a drink to calm her shakes so she can tell them how to perform the surgery for the baby.
Conrad and Nic send the girl on her way after her holder is arrested. She will start life over. AJ works with the surgeon to help the baby. The baby makes it through. The king is so happy that he offers to find Devon a job in his country so he can be with Nadine.
After much thought, Devon turns down the offer. The gang goes to watch Doll E. Perform. The young girl who was trafficked is reunited with her mother.
