General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, September 2 Recap – Victor Cassadine Obrecht’s Captor – Obsessed & Back from the Dead

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 2, reveals that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was revealed as Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) captor, so he was obsessed and back from the dead!

At GH, Ava Jerome (Maura West) eavesdropped on a conversation about Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) before sneaking in his room.

Scott was surprised that Ava cared enough to visit, but she suggested that of course she did – then immediately started hounding him about making sure the divorce went through ASAP.

Meanwhile, Wyatt Hoover (Patrick J. Gibbons) the PC pioneer brought the locket he found and was able to give it to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), who learned from Scott that Liesl had given it to him on the plane.

Later, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) quizzed Scott about his decision to charter a private jet.

Scott suggested he was scammed into thinking it was a good deal. Once Scott’s bloodwork came back, it revealed that he’d been chloroformed.

Then, it came out through Anna’s WSB contacts that the medical conference Liesl wasn’t real – and the organization set to host it also didn’t exist.

The plane remained missing as Obrecht awoke in fancy pajamas that weren’t her own. Liesl looked around a lovely room and tried to get out, but the door was locked.

When a servant appeared with her meal, Obrecht threatened him with a knife until a guard took it away. She refused to eat what she assumed was poisoned food Peter August (Wes Ramsey) sent to her.

Liesl felt Peter would have to come out and kill her himself, but she eventually turned around to see another villainous face.

After Obrecht exclaimed over Victor Cassadine, he suggested that the reports of his death had been greatly exaggerated.

It became clear that Victor was still obsessed with Liesl and didn’t like how close she was getting to Scott – though he assured her that he wasn’t so cruel as to throw Scott off the plane without a parachute.

Victor wanted Liesl to just forget about Scott and let her know she wasn’t going anywhere, but Liesl was determined to escape once she was alone.

Meanwhile, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) tried to put the meal he shared with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) on his father’s tab, but he learned he’d been taken off it.

After Esme said she’d pay the check, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) joined them and tried to get Spencer to see things his way.

Nikolas felt like he always acted out of love for Spencer, even when his son couldn’t see it. He didn’t want to lose Spencer like he’d lost Ava Jerome (Maura West), but Spencer grumbled about it always coming back to Ava for Nikolas.

Spencer left the table disgusted, but Esme followed him and suggested they should be real about this.

They were both high-maintenance, so Esme felt Spencer should suck it up and forgive Nikolas since living at Wyndemere was their best option right now.

Spencer returned to the new table more willing to fix things with Nikolas, who praised Esme and hoped this could serve as a new beginning.

As for Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), she took a call from Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) who fished for marinara sauce details and learned some bartender at The Tan-O made it.

Trina felt like Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) would know more.

Jax also sought advice from Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) during his visit to Spring Ridge. He explained some of the mistakes he’d made lately and worried he might be on the verge of making another one.

Even so, Jax felt someone else was making a mistake and worried about the far-reaching consequences.

Alexis warned Jax to walk away, but she felt like he’d already made his mind up to tackle the crisis anyway. Back with Trina, she admitted to Ava that she considered her to be a friend in addition to being her boss and mentor.

Ava confessed that Trina was like another daughter to her and knew it’d be hard to say goodbye.

Nevertheless, Ava felt leaving Port Charles was for the best – though she promised there’d always be a job there at the gallery for Trina and that the new manager had been informed.

Trina cried about needing Ava, who pulled her into a hug. They talked about Spencer’s secret girlfriend and how hurtful that was, but Ava still felt like Spencer could use a great girl like Trina in his life.

Trina wound up at the Metro Court, where she told Spencer and Esme about Ava’s decision to leave PC.

Esme figured Ava didn’t want Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) to suffer the same fate as “Lauren,” so a confused Trina asked if she meant Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin). Esme looked uncomfortable – like she knew she just screwed up big time.

At the gallery again, Jax surprised Ava when he showed up looking for answers about Nina.
