The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, August 16, reveals that Eric Forrester (John McCook) stopped Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) from signing the divorce papers after Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) decided he was done sneaking around.
At home on Monday’s B&B episode, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) contemplated Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) text before Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) returned after getting Hayes Forrester Finnegan back to sleep.
Steffy wanted to stop by the office to check on the restraining order, but she quickly realized she was making Finn uncomfortable by bringing up Sheila.
After Steffy suggested focusing on her handsome husband instead, Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) came in.
Paris was glad to see that the whole Sheila situation hadn’t put a damper on the newlyweds’ romance – “not that anything could.”
Steffy reminded Finn to stay away from Sheila before heading to Forrester Creations. While Amelia the nanny watched the kids, Finn went out surfing – and Paris complimented his moves afterward.
Paris also suggested that Finn could stop her if she was overstepping, but she hoped to find out how he was really doing.
Later, Finn looked at the text from Sheila and seemed pensive again. Paris didn’t mean to pry, but she assured Finn he could talk to her if he ever needed someone.
At the Forrester mansion, Eric zoned out before Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) snapped him back to reality. Ridge could tell Eric was distracted by his divorce papers, which just needed two signatures for closure.
When Ridge acknowledged that Eric wasn’t someone who took divorce lightly, Eric admitted that was true. He also felt that maybe he shoved Quinn in Carter’s direction, but Ridge kept the blame on Quinn.
Afterward, Ridge met up with Steffy and assured her there’d be a restraining order by the end of the day. He added that if Sheila came near Steffy or Hayes, she’d end up in prison where she belonged.
Steffy struggled to believe that knowing how clever and devious Sheila was. She couldn’t understand how a woman like that could give birth to someone as sweet and innocent as Finn.
At Carter’s loft, Quinn got notification on her phone about her divorce papers being finalized and awaiting the last signatures. She realized Carter already knew, so he confessed he didn’t know how to tell her.
Talk turned to what Carter wanted once the divorce was a done deal. He was through keeping their romance a secret and sneaking around.
Carter insisted he didn’t care about getting fired and thought he could find a great job elsewhere. He wanted the whole world to know what they shared, so Quinn seemed touched.
Carter knew it wouldn’t be easy for Quinn to end her marriage, but he promised to have something special waiting for her when she got home.
“Home?” a surprised Quinn asked. Carter confirmed that he wanted this to be Quinn’s home as well, so she gave him a seductive look as she put on her sunglasses and left.
Back at the Forrester mansion, Quinn pointed out that Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) portrait was back on the wall. Eric explained that it was done as Steffy’s request for the wedding.
Although Quinn had previously insisted she was done apologizing, she still hated herself for hurting Eric the way she did. Quinn assured Eric that part of her would always love and care about him.
Eric didn’t think he’d ever fully understand Quinn’s relationship with Carter, but she argued they never set out to deceive anyone – that it was just a matter of circumstances drawing two people together.
Quinn vowed to cherish the memories she made with Eric, but that’s all their marriage could be once the divorce papers were signed – just a bunch of memories.
Before Quinn could sign, Eric stopped her. He admitted he’d denied Quinn the affection and contact that any woman deserves from her husband.
Eric started thinking back to when it was them against the world and they weren’t bothered by what anyone else thought.
Eric pointed out that everyone deserved forgiveness including him and added that he’d been willing to forgive the mistakes of others.
Eric was happier during his time with Quinn than any other time of his life.
Eric told Quinn he didn’t want a divorce and that he wanted her back, so Quinn looked blown away by the declaration.
