Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, January 5 Update – Rex’s Memory Helps Xander – Sami Lands In Second Place

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Wednesday, January 5, teases that Rex Brady’s (Kyle Lowder) memory will help Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) while Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) feels like she’s coming in second place to Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney). Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) will also learn EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was framed, so here’s what DOOL fans can expect.

Xander is determined to figure out where Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) went and why, so retracing her steps is a good idea.

As part of that plan, Days spoilers say Xander will reach out to Rex about the final time he spoke to Sarah before she vanished.

Rex will talk about Sarah changing her mind and dumping him before heading off for parts unknown.

Rex may admit Sarah’s behavior seemed out of character during their last few interactions, but he might chalk it up to cold feet before the wedding.

However, Rex will also recall how Kate wasn’t acting like herself – and there was a reason for that since Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was impersonating her.

Xander will file away this info, but it’s going to come in handy once he joins forces with Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and gets her thinking about a possible Sarah impersonation.

Speaking of Abigail, she just dropped a bomb on Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) at the Horton house.

Gwen was busy hugging it out with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) before Abigail waltzed in with the news of her Sarah investigation.

It won’t be long until Gwen flies off the handle and argues that Abigail is plotting payback.

Gwen will feel like Abigail wants Xander to reunite with Sarah – just to destroy her half-sister’s happiness.

Of course, Abigail will think that’s ludicrous since she doesn’t care what Gwen and Xander do on their own time.

Not to mention a woman has disappeared! Abigail will defend her actions since Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) is desperate to get some answers about missing Sarah’s whereabouts.

Jack may play peacemaker somewhat – and Gwen will eventually have to cool it or else she’s going to blow all the progress she’s made with Jack.

Nevertheless, Gwen’s concerns and anger toward Abigail are probably just getting started.

Once Jack and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) leave town later this week, there’ll be the potential for unbridled sister drama between Gwen and Abigail. Days viewers can look forward to some romantic drama as well – particularly between EJ and Nicole.

EJ was all set to get his future with Sami back on track, but she ultimately believed the phony evidence Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) offered – though Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) was the brains of the operation.

The point is EJ got his heart broken and now regrets throwing Nicole away so easily.

EJ will have his work cut out for him when it comes to reconciling with Nicole, but he’ll apologize profusely and admit his mistake.

Nicole will scoff over being a runner-up to Sami, but EJ may argue that Nicole is the superior woman.

EJ may also beg Nicole for a chance to prove his new loyalty, so we’ll see how long it might take him to get out of the doghouse.

Until then, Kate will find Chad sitting in the CEO desk looking thrilled over the solo gig. She’ll congratulate Chad, but she’ll have a sneaking suspicion that some shady games have been afoot.

Days spoilers say Chad will ultimately admit to setting EJ up with that bogus proof.

Chad may confess he had some reservations about betraying his brother, but Lucas talked him into having some guts. Kate will have a motive to stay quiet because of Lucas’ part in all this, but she wouldn’t blab anyway.

Chad is like another son to Kate, who’ll be proud of him for showing his true DiMera colors.

Sometimes you have to play dirty in the corporate world, so Kate will be glad Chad’s learning that lesson.

It turns out Chad will waver on his decision as EJ’s kidnapping trial approaches.

Chad will be tempted to confess the truth in the weeks ahead, so Kate will have to keep his mouth shut – at least for as long as she can!

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Chad could land in hot water over his betrayal down the road.
