The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, February 18, teases that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will pay a doctor for an incriminating Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) story – and Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) will be interested in learning more about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
At Society on Friday’s Y&R episode, Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will try to make sense of how hot and cold Victor’s been regarding Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Victoria will also acknowledge Victor’s disapproval of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) as a COO choice.
However, Victor will like his priority is on family unity as usual. He’ll insist that he believes in Adam, but Victoria will remain suspicious of Victor’s motives.
At Newman Media, Adam will listen to Sally’s assessment of the merger and find it rather simplistic.
Sally will think her ideas are genius and will want a chance to sell Adam on the numbers, but he’ll suggest breakfast in public so they can concentrate.
When Adam and Sally make it to Society, they’ll find Victoria with Victor.
There’ll be some tension as Victoria insists on waiting until later to hear Sally’s ideas.
After Victoria dashes off, Sally and Adam will talk to Victor about how they’re settling in following the merger.
In a moment alone, Victor will remind Adam of his mission to spy on Ashland.
Victor will also note that Sally seems full of compliments for the boss, but Adam will insist the respect is mutual.
Once Adam joins Sally at the bar, she’ll steal off his plate before apologizing.
Adam will feel like he could get used to Sally doing that and will know how they can get some cardio in after their meal.
At Crimson Lights, Ashland will make another pitch to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) about joining Newman-Locke.
Ashland will think they can take Newman’s healthcare divisions and pair them up with Locke’s communication tech to create some real innovation.
Ashland will feel like they just need the right leadership and will push Nate to help him make changes globally.
When Victoria arrives, Nate will admit he’s not quite ready to turn in his stethoscope.
That said, Nate will assure Victoria that she married a master salesman.
Victoria will note that Ashland is used to getting what he wants, but she’ll feel like Nate has to pick the path that’s right for him.
After Nate leaves, Victoria will grill Ashland about why he’s so hung up on having Nate at Newman-Locke.
Ashland will contend that he trusts Nate implicitly and will act like you can never have too many allies around.
At home, Billy will talk to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about waking up in the night and getting some great work done.
Billy will admit he’s reconsidered the notion of doing a podcast himself and will assure Lily that it wouldn’t distract him from his COO duties.
At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will tell Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) that she’s staying in town.
Amanda will wonder if it’s because of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), so Phyllis will admit he’s a factor.
Even so, Phyllis will argue that no romantic relationship is going to happen with Jack. She’ll make it clear that they’re always going to remain friends and that’s it.
After Amanda alludes to her new job offer, she’ll see Imani arrive and deliver the Chancellor Industries proposal in the lounge area.
Amanda will insist there’d be a place for Imani, who’ll decide she’s open to the idea.
Imani will feel like the final say is Amanda’s, so she’ll ask some tough questions to figure out why Amanda would prefer this over their own firm.
Amanda will plead her case, but she’ll think the most important thing is that they’d still be working together.
Next, Imani and Amanda will stop by Billy and Lily’s condo to let them know they’re accepting the offer.
That’ll thrill Lily and Billy, so they’ll all talk a little business before Imani ends up at Crimson Lights with Amanda.
After Amanda and Imani agree this is the right move, Imani will wonder if there’s some sort of history between Amanda and Billy.
Imani will feel like she picked up on a dynamic earlier, but Amanda will insist they’re just friends who helped each other through some rough patches.
Imani will note that Billy seems like a very interesting person.
Imani will guess this new chapter is going to be quite a ride, so Amanda will think Imani can count on it with Billy involved.
Meanwhile, Jack will suspect someone is playing games with those mysterious texts.
Jack won’t be interested in playing along, but he’ll let Phyllis check out his phone since she’ll be so curious.
In a suite at The Grand Phoenix, Sally and Adam will let their passion erupt again.
In the aftermath, Sally will push Adam to trust her with whatever Victor was talking to him about.
Adam will confess that Ashland seems to be falling out of favor with his father.
Adam will note that Victor asked him to keep his eyes open, so Sally will suggest that Ashland is always working an angle.
Sally will also wonder if Adam’s going to spy like Victor asked, so he’ll admit part of him doesn’t want to play Victor’s game and do his bidding.
After Sally explains why she understands, she’ll share some kisses with Adam.
Back with Victoria and Ashland, they’ll ponder what Victor’s next move will be. Victoria will make it clear that she intends to find out.
At the ranch, Victor will get a video call from Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), who’ll reveal that he shared a meal with a very talkative doctor – one who was fired from the Peruvian clinic for questioning some of his boss’ decisions.
Michael will add that the doctor remembered a story about Ashland’s condition and treatment.
That doctor was willing to tell this story for a price, so Victor wondered what Michael was waiting for.
Victor agreed pay the man whatever he wanted if he’d talk on the record about Ashland.
Victor told Michael that he needed irrefutable proof of Ashland’s deception.
