The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there may be more to Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) position than meets the eye. Claire acts like being Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) assistant is her dream job, but is it really her dream to bring Nikki tea and do other mostly menial tasks?
Perhaps there’s another layer to Claire’s position that’s bringing her higher pay and a chance to impress the man who’s really in charge: the Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Claire has been fangirling like crazy over the Newmans and keeps trying to butter everyone up.
Y&R’s making Claire seem innocent and quite curious about all members of the Newman organization.
There have definitely been times when it felt like Claire was fishing for info. Claire has even had to back off a time or two and fret to Nikki over being too nosy!
That leads to the possibility that there’s a reason for Claire’s nosiness – like she’s working undercover to gather information and report back to someone.
If Claire is indeed a plant in Victor’s organization, what if Victor himself is behind this Newman spy?
Claire would be the perfect unsuspecting person to hire and have her offer updates on any ulterior motives or sneaky plans she might uncover.
Victor is convinced that someone’s going to betray him, so he assured Nikki that he was keeping an eye on Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Although Victor hopes Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) is loyal, he also needs to be watched for signs of betrayal.
Victor acknowledged how Nate double-crossed his family at Chancellor-Winters, so he knows you can’t be too careful.
Victor trusts Nikki, but he’s certainly been known to leave her out of the loop on certain things until he feels the time is right.
Maybe Victor decided not to tell Nikki about Claire’s secret agenda out of fear that Nikki might do something to tip everyone else off.
Victor may have sent Nikki the ideal assistant knowing she’d most likely pick Claire and then he’d have the perfect undercover employee to discreetly be his eyes and ears.
Regardless, it’d be great if all this is building to a scene where Claire secretly meets with Victor and eventually tells him about a betrayal she’s uncovered.
