The Young and the Restless Update: Monday, August 28 – SOS Call, Unsettled Eavesdropper and Girlfriend’s Demands

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, August 28, indicates that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will have a change of heart about letting Nick Newman (Joshua Hoffman) offer capital for a new business. Nick will get excited when Sally finally accepts his generous offer to create an amazing venture for herself.

Meanwhile, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will push Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to make the logical choice and make him the sole CEO of Newman Media.

Once the merger goes through, Adam will suggest Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) could vacate the throne while Nick and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) share second-in-command duties.

Although Victor will bicker with Adam and resist the idea, Adam will have faith that his father will eventually view it as the best option.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), on the other hand, will think Nick and Sharon should share the CEO seat.

During a conversation with Victor, Nikki will push for Sharon and Nick to take charge while Adam works in a secondary role.

At Crimson Lights, Adam will be taken aback to find Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) behind the counter.

Esther will point out that Sharon is busy becoming a business mogul, so she’ll be pitching in at the coffeehouse.

However, Nikki will rain on Esther’s parade soon after. When Nikki hints about Sharon’s venture falling through, Esther will grow frustrated and fear she’ll have to give up her new manager job.

When Sally meets with Adam, she won’t tell him what he wants to hear.

Adam will be bummed to find out Sally’s letting Nick fund a new venture instead of accepting Adam’s job offer.

After Adam calls it a mistake, he’ll act like there’s no way Nick will stay hands-off. It’ll leave Sally a bit fearful about Nick getting too involved due to the money he’s providing.

At Society, Sharon will complain to Nick about Adam’s behavior – and she won’t be too happy about Victor’s apparent intentions for Kirsten Incorporated either.

That’s why Sharon will suggest maybe they should just take Kirsten Incorporated and walk away since she still owns it.

Nick will see Sharon’s perspective, but he’ll acknowledge that the merger is almost done and that wiggling out of it will be difficult legally.

In the end, Nick will seem like he’s encouraging Sharon to stick to the plan and find a new way to deal with Adam as well as Victor.

Once Victor joins Sharon and Nick, he’ll offer updates on Adam’s trip to the ranch, where he tried to score the Newman Media CEO role for himself.

Nick will point out that if Victor caves in, then he’s out! Sharon will back Nick up as she asks questions about Kirsten Incorporated and its part in Victor’s plans.

After Victor reconvenes with Nikki and mentions Sharon potentially backing out of the whole arrangement, his wife will act like this merger may be more trouble than it’s worth!

Back with Nick, he’ll hint to Sally that he might forget about the merger and just pitch in on her new business.

Since that’s exactly what Adam warned her about, Sally will want to establish some ground rules.

Since Sally is looking for someone to invest and not someone to partner up with, she’ll make that clear to Nick.

Sally will feel like the quickest way to cause trouble in their relationship is for her to feel like she has to answer to Nick instead of doing things for herself.

After Sally spells out her terms, she’ll insist it’s the only way she can make this deal.

Back at the coffeehouse, Sharon will reassure an upset Esther that she can still be manager.

Adam will look uneasy as he eavesdrops – especially when Sharon hints about the situation turning out even better than expected.

At the tack house, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will snap at Sharon briefly since she’ll be so stressed out over Aria Porter-Copeland’s (Maddie and Millie Ingle) hearing issues.

After Mariah apologizes, she’ll get some encouragement from both Sharon and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).

Sharon will distract Mariah and Tessa with some talk about the merger mess, but they’ll still be nervous ahead of their appointment with a specialist.

That’s why Tessa will call Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) over to listen to their questions and concerns.

Devon has first-hand knowledge of hearing loss and treatments, so he’ll be more than willing to provide support.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon will give Mariah a sweet hug, so she’ll be glad to have a friend who understands.
