In tonight’s Boston Blue episode, Sean was back on his feet. He was about to start his first day as a cop. He was riding with his friend, Jonah. Jonah has deep roots within Boston. He was to Boston what Sean was to NYC. They both came from cop families and they both received advice before their first tour together.

They were each told that the first ride denotes who was batman and who was the sidekick. Jonah’s sister told him that he needed to be the hero. Danny told his own son the same. They couldn’t both be the hero. They also both decided to ignore that advice because they were friends. They wanted to remain friends. They didn’t see hero or sidekick.

Sean was with his dad. They had just seen a baseball game. Mets Vs White Socks. They were leaving the game before Danny got lynched for cheering for the Mets when they heard gunshots.

The cops tracked down where the shots came from. They found a victim on the ground. He was tied up and there was duct tape over his mouth. Danny tried to keep the man alive, but he succumbed to his injuries. The shooting had turned into a murder. Danny being first on scene while he was still loaned out to Boston PD meant this case was his and his new partner’s.

Lena quickly arrived on the scene. Then again so was her mother. The District Attorney knew the victim. His name was Winston Ballard. He was their chief witness against Louis Malakov.

Malakov was accused of running a ponzi scheme. He defrauded his clients out of lots of money. Winston was the only one that came forward to testify against him. He was the glue holding the entire case together. He came forward which led to others wanting to come forward. Him now being dead meant everyone would run scared.

It also meant they have a great suspect. The only one that wanted Winston dead was Malakov. He was their best lead and to be frank he was their only lead because of the mistakes made in Winston’s protection detail. He was supposed to have been protected by Boston PD.

Then one officer left her post early. She recently lost her husband and her daughter got injured at school to the point they took her to the emergency room. The other officer that was supposed to relieve her had claimed he was right around the block. And so she felt safe enough to leave.

It turns out the guy was lying. The woman should never have left without getting eyes on him. In the time that Winston wasn’t protected, someone broke into his home and abducted him in full view of his wife. It was all preventable. The same goes for what happened next. Danny and Lena went to go speak with Malakov. They were asking him about Winston to see if he was smug enough to let anything drop, but someone shot him. Shot him right in front of the cops. They fled in a getaway vehicle and the cops couldn’t stop them.

Malakov’s last words were “win”. He could’ve been talking about Winston. Or he could have been talking about his ex-wife, Winnie. Winnie did well in the divorce. She technically started the company and cashed out before it went ponzi. She hated her ex. She now runs a nonprofit.

Her company uses the same blue vans that the killer got away in. Winnie was asked about it. She said they reported a van stolen a week ago. The cops at the time hadn’t asked about the broken window. The same broken window they didn’t notice was broken until a day after the van was reported stolen.

It was the window that gave them the best lead. It showed that someone swung from the window inside by using a pole. There were still handprints on the pole.

They were being tested when there was a family dinner at the Silvers. One of the cops that messed up on the Winston’s case was Sarah’s old partner. She wanted to speak up for her.

She also spoke for the other officer as well. She made a mistake in trying to get her grandpa to speak with the POST board. He couldn’t do it. He revealed to her mother what she asked of him and Mae believes she raised Amazon warriors. They have to fight their own battles.

The same goes for Jonah. Jonah and Sean’s first shift didn’t go well. Their families made it weird with all the talk of hero and sidekick. They now has a suspect that accidentally got away because they were both trying to prove things weren’t weird. They eventually caught the guy.

They also decided to not ruin their friendships with some outdated versions of policing. It wasn’t the wild west out there. Lena and Danny in the meantime found who killed their victims. It was Harold Baca. He was also going to kill Winnie as well because someone wanted control of the company.

The cops saved Winnie’s life. They arrested Baca. They also learned that his sister was Naomi Ballard. She had her brother kill her husband because she didn’t want to give up the lavish lifestyle. She hated her husband for coming forward. No one would have found out if he hadn’t.

Its also how his killer knew the perfect time to target Winston when the cops weren’t there. Naomi and her brother were now facing serious charges. Maybe some of that money Naomi has been hoarding could go towards making restitution to Malakov’s victims.

Sarah eventually did fire her friend, but then she got her a job at the DA’s office as an investigator. She was left in a good mood and so was the whole family when they heard that Danny was going to be transferring to Boston permanently. He lost a lot of time with Sean these past few years.

He wants to be there for him now. He wants to show him how to be a cop like his old man did for him. Anyways, NYC was a three hour drive. They could do that for family dinner on Sunday.

THE END!
