General Hospital (GH) spoilers imply that Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) will likely get acquitted for Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting; however, proof could then surface that she was the one who pulled the trigger twice, which would be futile thanks to the double jeopardy legal principle.
There’s a lot to unpack here, so walk with CDL (ever so slowly) as we contemplate this intriguing storyline theory.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has done a stellar job as Willow’s defense attorney, taking the focus off the nurse and placing it on other suspects in town.
Off the cusp of that anonymous letter, which points to Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) at the scene of the crime, and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) knowing about it, it’s clear this information will be presented to the jury during the week of December 29-January 2, or when court reconvenes.
With so many factors in play, not to mention the idea of Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson’s (Tabayan Ali) presence at Drew’s house the night of the shooting being exposed, it seems as if all arrows point to the fact that Willow will be found not guilty at the end of this trial.
This could make things mighty messy if it turns out that Willow did indeed shoot her then-fiancé Drew, now husband, in the back.
It’s not hard to imagine Drew remembering something after Willow’s acquittal.
General Hospital spoilers have been hinting that Drew has some sort of memory from the night of his shooting that could indicate who the shooter was.
Then again, as Willow isn’t the most mentally stable person in Port Charles right now, there’s always a chance she has a meltdown and reveals she shot Drew to her husband during a fight.
Willow shooting Drew could be revealed as a little of both above scenarios: Willow reels over some kind of news or makes some odd move which triggers Drew’s memory.
Still, it’ll be a “too little, too late” moment, thanks to a double jeopardy legal ruling, as someone cannot be tried twice on the same charge, shooting Drew, for the same crime.
This would certainly ensure that Willow remains on canvas, active in storylines, and creates a new layer of drama in her world, along with Drew and Michael.
Drew was so adamant that Willow was innocent and went to extreme lengths to help her get custody of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko).
Learning that his “loving wife” was the one who shot him would be a slap in the face and obviously end their marriage.
Not to mention how terrifying it’ll be for fans to watch Willow literally get away with attempted murder.
She’s spiraled into dark territory in recent months by stalking Daisy Gilmore (Levi Clark Coughlin), but trying to kill her partner and covering it up takes the case.
Willow may also get full or partial custody of the children when all is said and done, so the potential for chaos is unlimited.
General Hospital spoilers note that the secret surrounding Drew’s shooter is on the cusp of being revealed – so close GH fans can taste it – and all signs indicate that sweet Willow is the culprit and will get away with it.
