Love is often complicated in Genoa City, so some challenges are coming up that’ll affect multiple duos on canvas.
Let’s talk about three couples and the turmoil that awaits them now that 2026 is underway.
1) Jack and Diane
For starters, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) could be headed for trouble thanks to Newman drama.
Once Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) takes Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) side, she’ll help him plot against Jack.
Nikki will put her husband and family above all else in the end, so she’ll work with Victor to strike back against Jack at some point.
This Newman-Abbott feud will lead to some surprising consequences for Jack and Diane, so they’ll struggle during the aftermath of Victor and Nikki’s actions.
It sounds like Diane and Jack’s marriage will suffer as a result, but will their love help them overcome the obstacles?
Jack and Diane will have to figure out if their connection is stronger than all the Newman chaos.
2) Billy and Sally
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are another Y&R couple destined for some issues in the coming months.
There’ll be some situations that force Sally to open her eyes a bit when it comes to Billy and what he’s capable of.
Sally will wonder if she truly knows the real Billy and may question whether she still has a future with him.
Since it looks like Billy and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) are ultimately going to use the AI program on Victor, that may play a role in his relationship problems with Sally.
It could leave Sally feeling like Billy is always going to be stuck in this vengeful Victor cycle, so she may also have to decide whether that’s something she can live with!
3) Devon and Abby
Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) will also deal with some marriage strife in the coming months.
All signs point to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) kidnapping Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (last played by Rainn and River Ware) during her downward spiral, so that’ll put a strain on Abby and Devon’s romance.
Once the truth comes out and Dominic returns home, Devon might end up cutting Mariah some slack due to her fractured mental state.
If Abby insists Mariah belongs behind bars, that could lead to some heated arguments with Devon.
Perhaps Devon will contend that Mariah needs time in the psych ward rather than in a prison cell.
