Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes announced on Monday June 29 that she is not returning for the next season and has officially quit the Bravo reality TV show. Rumors of Nene leaving the show seem to pop up every season right before they begin filming, but they never turn out to be true. Sadly, this time around the rumors were 100% true and Leakes is out.
Nene Leakes has been a cornerstone on the wildly popular reality TV show for years, and although she doesn’t seem to get along with any of her co-stars, she has a massive fan following that seem to like her just fine. Considering all of the doors and opportunities that Real Housewives of Atlanta have opened up for Nene Leakes, it seems almost foolish that she would want to quit the show now. So, what happened? Well, apparently Nene got a bit full of herself, and she thinks she is worth $5 Million, but Bravo thinks she is only worth $1 Million.
According to a report from Naughty Gossip, Nene quit Real Housewives of Atlanta because she thought Bravo wasn’t paying her enough to film the reality TV show. Naughty Gossip’s inside source dished, “NeNe was offered $1 MILLION for the upcoming season, but she wanted $5 MILLION. Nene made it clear she was not returning for less. NeNe wanted to be an official EXECUTIVE PRODUCER. She wanted control over taping and edits of the show. When they said no, she announced she was leaving but the two sides are STILL in talks.”
So, it sounds like Nene is playing hardball, and announced that she was quitting the show as some sort of scare tactic to get Bravo to meet her demands. Now, it’s just a waiting game.
