Tonight the junior home cooks run room service at one of the countries busiest hotels and it is a team challenge. Evan and Mikey are the team captains because they did the best in the last challenge. Evan is team blue and Mikey is team red. Evan picks Sammy, Beni, Ariana, Henry, and Remy. Mikey picks Anthony, Pierce, Cade, Quani, Emily.

The orders come in and there is chaos in the kitchen. The red team is much more organized than the blue team. Sammy is having a hard time making waffles and throwing the blue team behind. The red team is serving raw omelets. Red team loses a vote because one of their orders are not ready on time. Joe invites some of the guests who are rating the food to visit the kitchen and see the cooks make the breakfast orders.

Evan is proud of his team because they got all their orders out. Joe announces that the team that is safe and on this challenge is the blue team. Mikey looks upset, he has tears in his eyes. The judges tell them that they did very well and shouldn’t be so hard on themselves.

The red team has to face the first Master Chef pressure test, Gordon gives them black aprons to wear. Joe unveils the dish they have to make, risotto. Joe first gives them a lesson in how to make the dish. The home cooks have to replicate the dish, they run to their stations – they have 30 minutes.

The challenge is over, the home cooks bring their dishes to the front. Joe tastes Mikey’s dish, Joe loves it. Pierce is next, Gordon tastes it and it lacks seasoning. Quani’s turn, Christina is incredibly impressed with the seasoning, she is impressed.

Beni’s turn, Gordon is very pleased. Cade has never made risotto before, Joe is trying it and really thinks it is good. This is a tough challenge. Emily says she tried her hardest but had a hard time, her rice is not cooked enough, Christina thinks the dish needed more of everything. Anthony hasn’t made risotto in a long time and it is undercooked according to Joe. Christina calls Mikey, Cade, Quani and Beni to the front, they are all safe. It is down to Emily, Anthony and Pierce. One home cook is safe, it is Anthony. Emily and Pierce are going home.

Its time for the next Memory Box Challenge. At their stations each home cook has a box from Blue Apron, they deliver fresh ingredients to make a complete home cooked meal in 45 minutes. The boxes are all empty because the home cooks have to build a Blue Apron recipe of their own. They have access to the Blue Apron farm stand.

The winning dish will have their recipe sent to families all across America and Blue Apron will publish the recipe. The Home Cooks have to prepare a dish inspired by their families. Gordon couldn’t resist getting in on the fun and made his own dish, Poek Ramen with Miso Broth and Vegetable Medley. Joe and Christina love it. There three dishes that blew the judges away.

First dish up is Sammy who made Pan Seared Steak with Parmesan Polenta, Fried Brussels Sprouts and Compound Butter – Gordon loves the dish and said he plated like a chef. The second dish they want to examine further belongs to Ariana who made Pan Seared Salmon with Lemon-Herb Quinoa and Brussels Sprouts – Christina loves it and says the quinoa is very fluffy.

The third dish they want to look at belongs to Beni, she made Pan Seared Pork Chop with Brussels Sprouts, Polenta and Lemon-Herb Sauce – Joe loves it and says the pork chop is juicy. The winner of this challenge is Sammy, he is safe from elimination. Tonight the rest of the contestants will participate in a team challenge. Sammy gets to pick one cook to save with himself, he chooses Henry. Anthony pairs Anthony and Remy, Ariana and Evan, Beni and Avery, Olivia and Quani, Mikey and Cade. For tonight’s challenge the home cooks will make asian inspired food.

In a tag team they can only cook one at a time and when the judges should switch, they switch cooks. Tonight the entire losing team, two cooks, will go home. There are five Asian appetizers to replicate.

Remy and Anthony are first, Gordon loves their dishes, so does Christina. Avery and Beni are next, Joe is very happy with their effort and calls it mind blowing. Mikey and Cade are next, Christina says there are little adjustments required, but they did very good.

Ariana and Evan are next, they don’t seem confident – Joe says the presentation was lacking and there were many mistakes. Quani and Olivia are next, Gord says the spring rolls are greasy, but they nailed 4 out of 5. Cade and Mikey, Anthony and Remy are all safe and head up to the balcony. Gord announces that everyone is safe, nobody is going home because the judges couldn’t separate the weakest platters.

THE END!
