The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Maya (Karla Mosley) is finally headed back to the CBS soap. Mosley stepped away for her maternity leave, but she’s ready to get in on the action again. She’s resuming her role as Maya and hopefully gearing up for some hot drama.
Of course, we should note that Maya’s husband still isn’t around. B&B took Jacob Young off contract as Rick and it doesn’t look like they’re interested in using him on a recurring basis either. Young appears to be staying busy with other projects anyway. The show could recast, but why would they want to if they weren’t even willing to use Young’s Rick?
It seems we’ll remain Rick-less, so where does that leave Maya? Will The Bold and the Beautiful just leave her stuck in a pointless marriage forever? This is a tricky situation since they may not want to cheapen Rick and Maya’s love story.
After Maya revealed she was transgender, Rick accepted her and they built a wonderful life together. That life includes Lizzie, so splitting would mean breaking up their family. Then again, it’s not like there’s anything to break up these days – at least no on screen. B&B could simply tell us that they drifted apart and set up a quiet divorce.
That’d leave the door open for other love interest options. Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) expressed interest in Maya after she was married, but that never really went anywhere. Should The Bold and the Beautiful revisit the idea? Carter and Maya made a steamy couple once upon a time. B&B fans are always eager to see more of Carter anyway, so a reunion with Maya would work well here.
Even if B&B just keeps Maya married to Rick offscreen, let’s hope she gets an exciting new story. The show could surely come up with something Forrester-related. Regardless, Mosley will be on screen again before you know it. On Instagram, she told viewers she had returned to the studio for filming.
