The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that there’s some big news to report, and it could offer another hint about some casting shakeups. Y&R fans know there have been some changes happening behind the scenes lately. Several onscreen departures are looming, but even more could be coming.
Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) has vowed to fight for his marriage, which may not be a great sign about his Y&R future. He’s hesitant to let go of Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil), so there could still be a chance for “Lane’s” reunion.
That’s especially true since Lily will be present for Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) upcoming memorial service. Times of loss tend to bring characters back to together.
That brings us to that big news we mentioned. According to the LA Times, Goddard recently sold his Los Angeles home. The Spanish-influenced house in Calabasas was purchased for $1.2 million, so that’s quite a sale. These real estate updates naturally lead us to wonder about Goddard’s future on The Young and the Restless.
It’s possible Goddard is just relocating to another part of LA and will remain on the CBS soap. However, it’s also possible Goddard has been given the boot or has chosen to leave. He may plan to leave Los Angeles entirely, which would explain the sale of his lovely home.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say the story could certainly set up a joint exit for Cane and Lily. The end of the school year will be here before you know it, so Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) will be heading to college. With the twins out of the picture and no viable love interests in sight, that just leaves Cane as a single dad to Sam.
That wouldn’t be much of a story, so Y&R could send Cane off to join Lily elsewhere. She wants a fresh start, but maybe they could have a fresh start together. Is The Young and the Restless gearing up for “Lane’s” happily ever after or at least their last chance for a future? They may decide they owe it to themselves to give their love one final shot.
