Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Monday, December 28 Recap - Steve's New Suspect - Kate Rages At Tripp - Charlie Hides Ava From Claire

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, December 28, reveal that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) talked in Kayla Brady’s (Mary Beth Evans) office at the hospital.

John still thought that Steve needed to admit that Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) raped Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), but Steve asked John to hear his theory out about another person – a close relative of Tripp’s – raping Allie.

John was skeptical, but Steve pointed out that if there was even the slightest chance that someone other than Tripp raped Allie, then John would surely want to know and make sure that the man was punished.

Steve told John his theory about who he thought the rapist might be off-screen, and John thought it was an interesting theory.

“But if this is a dead end, you’ll have to have a day of reckoning with your boy and his lie,” John said. Steve said that he knew in his gut that Tripp wasn’t guilty of the rape.

Steve and John wished each other a Merry Christmas and John took off. Steve was pleased. Meanwhile, over at Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) apartment, Tripp readied some “have you seen this woman” posters with Ava’s picture on it.

At Charlie Dale’s (Mike C. Manning) apartment, Charlie contemplated what to do as Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) knocked at the door. Charlie gagged Ava and talked to Claire through the door, explaining that he was still sick and didn’t want to give her his bug.

Claire insisted that she should come in, so Charlie dragged Ava to a back room and left her there.

Charlie then opened the door to Claire, and Claire gave Charlie his Christmas present – a shirt to replace the one that she spilled her smoothie on when they first met.

After some tense moments and preventing Claire from taking a tour of the apartment, Charlie tried on his shirt, and Claire enjoyed watching Charlie shirtless.

Claire said that there was one more Christmas present that she really wanted to give him, and Charlie said that he really wanted that, but that he couldn’t risk her getting what he has. Suddenly, Ava knocked something over with her foot from the back room, and Charlie lied and said it was the pipes making noise.

Claire wondered if there was something else going on with Charlie, since he seemed a little tense. Charlie brushed it off as being work concerns, and ultimately Claire took off.

Charlie brought Ava back out to the main room, and he said that he wasn’t going to kill her, since Claire thought he was such a great guy. Charlie wondered what to do with Ava now.

At Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John’s penthouse, Marlena and Allie were talking when Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) showed up and said that he had gone to talk with Tripp.

Allie and Marlena were horrified as Lucas described threatening Tripp with scissors. Lucas then blurted out to Marlena that Allie had held Tripp at gunpoint, and Marlena reeled.

Marlena gave Lucas and Allie a lecture about how there was nothing to be gained by violence, but Lucas said he was proud of Allie for taking matters into her own hands. Marlena then brought up Allie’s civil suit against Tripp, and Lucas heard about this for the first time, thinking that it was a good idea.

Soon, Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) cried, and Allie held him, and then Lucas held the baby. Lucas said that he’d miss Henry when he was away on his business trip, and he and Allie shared a tender moment. Marlena said that it was a beautiful scene seeing Allie, Henry, and Lucas together.

In town square, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) sat and talked about how Tripp should be behind bars. Will wondered if Kate ever considered confronting Tripp, but Kate said that it probably wasn’t a good idea, since she’d probably shred Tripp with her bare hands.

Soon, Tripp walked up, and Kate started yelling and lunging at him. Will held Kate back as she yelled at Tripp for raping Allie. “I didn’t rape Allie!” Tripp yelled back, adding that he wouldn’t do something like that.

Will told Tripp to stay away from his family, and Kate yelled that Tripp should get out of Salem. Kate and Will took off, leaving Tripp really upset.

Tripp returned to Ava’s apartment, and soon Steve stopped by. Tripp showed Steve the card that Ava left for him, proving that Ava was planning on spending the holidays with him.

Steve shared that he and John were going to work to clear Tripp’s name. “We have a real suspect, and he happens to be a relative of yours,” Steve said. “What relative?” Tripp asked.
