The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Pierson Fode’s Heartbreaking Loss - Shares Touching Dialogue About Death

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about a former B&B star. Pierson Fode, who portrayed Thomas Forrester on the CBS soap from 2015-2018, has shared on social media that he recently lost his grandfather Roy.

Pierson made the sad announcement during a recent YouTube video that he shared on his channel. During the “Fode Fireside Chat,” Pierson spoke with his friend Mark Dohner, who asked him a variety of questions about his experience with his grandfather’s death. Since his grandfather passed during the coronavirus pandemic, Pierson and his family held the funeral via FaceTime, which was of course difficult.

Pierson described his rationale for the video in the video’s opening moments. Pierson said, “What’s up you guys – I wanted to open up the conversation of death. It’s very uncomfortable, but something that needs to be spoken. Recently, my grandfather passed away, and I wanted to use myself as an example and a learning tool for all of you for the questions you can ask, the memories that you can hold onto, and the ways that we cope.”

Pierson continued: “It’s very subjective. Take it with a grain of salt and implement it in your life in the way that you will, but at some point, we will have someone that passes away. And I think it’s moments like these that remind us to live in the moment and live for the future and live for something better than we are right now.”

You can watch the full conversation between Pierson and his friend below, as Pierson opens up about what it’s like to deal with a very personal loss, and to deal with it while having to take precautions against COVID-19.

Pierson also announced his grandfather’s passing on his Instagram feed, where he linked his followers to his YouTube video. “RIP Grandpa Roy 1934-2020,” Pierson posted on Instagram. “A few weeks ago, my grandpa passed away in his sleep in the midst of the pandemic. Just because things look incredible on the outside doesn’t mean that it’s the same on the inside.”

Pierson continued: “Social media only shows the highlight reel and this is a departure from that perfection. I wish he could’ve been around to see ‘The Man From Toronto’ but life doesn’t grant wishes. I wanted to have an open dialogue about death and dying as it’s never talked about till it’s too late. Rather than just saying ‘I’m sorry’ I hope people begin to ask what your favorite memories of someone you lost were – to help remember their life and not just the death.”

Pierson got a lot of love from other Instagram users and YouTube viewers on his post and his video. Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra on B&B) replied by saying: “I’m so sorry. Opening up is the best way to heal and spread the truest form of humanity. Thanks for sharing your soul. My heart is with you.”

Courtney also said: “Death is something I think about daily, having experienced so much of it in my life as well. Thanks for opening up a dialogue surrounding it, and making it something to embrace as opposed to fear. It’s propelled my life and my relationships because I know how quickly it can all change. Thanks for sharing the truth.”

We send our deepest condolences to Pierson at this time. Stay tuned to B&B and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Bold and the Beautiful updates and news.
