The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, July 16, tease that viewers will see an encore episode that originally aired on April 14, 2006. In the episode, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will be chatting with JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) when Colleen Carlton (Adrianne Leon) walks up and overhears JT asking Kevin how Mackenzie “Mac” Browning (Rachel Kimsey) is doing. Colleen won’t mind that JT is inquiring about his ex, and Kevin will explain that he hasn’t heard from Mac.
Later, Colleen and JT will get takeout and head to JT’s apartment. JT and Colleen will talk about when they first became friends while Colleen was helping JT prepare for college. Colleen and JT will canoodle. Across town, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Ashley Abbott Carlton (Eileen Davidson) will arrive at the William Bardwell’s (Ted Shackleford) office, as Ashley will be determined to take a polygraph to prove her innocence in the tampering of Glow Again samples.
Meanwhile, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will be stunned to learn that Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman) is the person who tampered with the Glow Again samples. Gloria will insist that no one else was supposed to have used the samples, and that it was really Jack and Ashley’s fault for sending the samples out for testing early. Michael will blast Gloria for denying responsibility for what she did, then he’ll leave once he gets a call from Jack and Ashley.
Next, Gloria will talk with Kevin at Crimson Lights, and she’ll blast him for telling Michael the truth. Kevin will be horrified when Gloria states that she did it for Kevin. Kevin won’t accept that, and he’ll tell Gloria that she only did what she did to get back at Jack and Ashley. Meanwhile, at the DA’s office, Michael, Ashley, and Jack will learn that Ashley passed the polygraph.
Michael will say that there’s no evidence that anyone deliberately sabotaged the samples, but Jack and Ashley will insist that there are proper safeguards in place, and that someone must have done it on purpose. Bardwell will emerge with a log listing all the people who were in the lab when the Glow Again samples were there.
Meanwhile, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) will talk with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Daniel will be sorry that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) overheard their fight, but he’ll still be angry with his mother. Phyllis will say that what happened between her and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wasn’t planned, and that they ended things. Daniel will calm down.
Across town, Victor and Nick will talk about Nick’s affair with Phyllis as well. Victor will advise that Nick do everything he can to save his marriage to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). Later, Nick will go to see Phyllis, and he’ll be thinking that Phyllis should quit her job. Phyllis will balk at that, saying that her career is all she has left. Meanwhile, Victor will offer some comfort to Sharon, and Sharon will tell Victor that she can’t cope with seeing Phyllis every day.
Nick will wind up visiting Sharon at the house as Noah Newman (Hunter Allan) and Daniel are out playing ball. Sharon and Nick will discuss how Victor found out about Nick’s affair. Sharon will say that it was probably Phyllis, but Nick will defend Phyllis. That will lead to an argument, which Noah will walk in and overhear.
Finally, Phyllis will decide that she needs to go talk with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) instead of waiting for Victor to tell Nikki about her affair with Nick. Phyllis will head to the elevator to leave for the ranch, but she’ll find Victor standing in the elevator blocking her from leaving. Victor will tell Phyllis to let him know where they can ship her belongings.
