Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a surprising return is coming up in Salem. On Instagram, one former Days star announced that he was back on set before deleting the post.
Dan Wells is set to reprise his role as “Stan” briefly, so let’s talk about the photo that was shared and discuss what might be in store.
Back in 2005, Days of Our Lives came up with an inventive way to handle Alison Sweeney’s (Sami Brady) maternity leave. Since Sweeney had to be out of the picture for a while, the show wrote in a male persona for Sami.
After Sami settled on “Stan” as a name for his persona, she was able to sneak around Salem and target her enemies for revenge.
It was obviously one of those farfetched, fun plots that Days likes to do from time to time. Current DOOL Head Writer Ron Carlivati has no problem embracing the wacky side of the show and seems to enjoy writing little blast-from-the-past arcs for old cast members.
Stan is the latest face to make comeback on set according to Wells’ now deleted photo and the caption that accompanied it. The picture featured Wells wearing scrubs in his dressing room, so that’s an important story clue we’ll address in a moment.
A picture of the Days cast could be seen in the background along with a shoebox that was clearly marked “Stan.”
Wells put up an hourglass emoji to kick off his message about Stan’s comeback news. He added, “… but I play one on TV…” ha – A cameo return of Stan to Days of Our Lives @nbcdays … could that be? Fun day filming today… fun stuff ahead #dool #doolfantalk” Jason47 offered updates on the deleted post through his Facebook page.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Sami will be arrested and charged with Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) murder, so that might play a role in why Sami needs to conceal her true identity.
Whatever the case, Sami will apparently need to lurk around the hospital as someone else – and who better to masquerade as than Stan in scrubs?
Sami will apparently don a Stan disguise and use a voice-changer similar to the one she used the last time she pretended to be “Stan” in Salem. Once more details emerge on Wells’ upcoming return as Stan, we’ll fill you in.
