General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will need to put some thought into what her prison consultant said about finding a purpose.
Alexis is looking at a lengthy stint behind bars, so she needs a way to pass the time and work toward a goal. It’ll help Alexis survive behind bars if she’s got a reason to wake up in the morning and stay motivated about something.
With that in mind, let’s think about what Alexis might settle on as her purpose. To do that, we should remember what skills Alexis brings to the table. It’s hard to imagine this purpose of hers not including Alexis’ legal expertise.
Although Alexis isn’t allowed to practice law anymore, she’s still got all the knowledge necessary to be an attorney. Alexis was a heck of a lawyer before she lost her license, so that’ll probably tie in with the purpose she finds at Pentonville.
Of course, there’s a person Alexis might encounter at Pentonville as well – one who could also relate to her purpose. Alexis might cross paths with Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) at some point and get a little blast from the past.
GH fans will recall that Alexis and Shawn were involved romantically once upon a time.
If Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) could hang out with Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) at Pentonville enough to scheme against the Quartermaines and marry him, then Alexis and Shawn can certainly have a little story together.
Perhaps seeing Shawn again could bring the spark of an idea and give Alexis the purpose of getting him out of there.
Shawn isn’t guilty of the crime he was convicted of since he didn’t really shoot Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), so there’s no reason for him to be locked up. Could Alexis resolve to right the wrong and put a stop to this injustice?
General Hospital spoilers say Shawn will team up with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) at Pentonville, but there’s only so much they can do on the inside.
Jason has his trial coming up, so he can hold out hope that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will clear him beforehand or that Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) will get him off the hook if it indeed goes to trial.
What about Shawn? Maybe Shawn will come to rely on Alexis’ legal skills to set his freedom in motion. Alexis might do some research and see what she can accomplish. She can certainly rely on Diane and other connections on the outside eventually.
By helping Shawn, Alexis could potentially help Jason since Shawn could become a free man and stand against Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)! Carly could use some backup, so let’s hope she gets it.
If Alexis pulls this off, her purpose could become helping other wrongfully accused inmates or perhaps people facing punishments that were too strict for the crimes. Alexis might work to make sure people who didn’t belong in prison scored their freedom.
