The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that fans are reacting to the Hunter King and Michael Mealor exit news, so we’re seeing plenty of outraged Summer & Kyle supporters speak out. SOD’s insider report indicates King and Mealor are both exiting the canvas due to a negotiations stalemate, so that’s got many Y&R viewers riled up.
For a while, the show focused on Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) as a match for Kyle before finally pivoting back to Kyle and Summer’s love story.
The move made sense considering “Skyle” had history on their side. Plus, an Abbott-Newman romance was ideal in a town where those are the two main families.
Summer and Kyle ultimately became the couple to root for, but now the show’s set to lose this popular pairing. Let’s look at some fan reactions that came once the exit news broke.
“I understand that things can’t last forever, but #Skyle is one of the few things that makes #YR worth watching,” one viewer said on Twitter. “They’d be crazy to let Hunter & Michael go #SaveSkyle.”
“Both @HunterHaleyKing and @Michael_Mealor are leaving? No!!!!! #Skyle is one of my favorite couples,” another fan tweeted.
“Hunter and Michael’s acting and portrayals of their characters Summer and Kyle are superb. We need to keep them on canvas, so we can keep watching #Skyle storyline’s unfold,” one more viewer said.
There have also been fans encouraging others to write and call the show to spark a change. Perhaps it’s not too late to turn things around if viewers are willing to fight for “Skyle.”
There was certainly a big fan push to get Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) back on Y&R after her exit as Hilary Curtis Hamilton – and now she’s indeed back where she belongs.
Summer and Kyle fans are also holding out hope that they’ll still have a future in GC. However, it does look like Michael Mealor’s exit will follow Hunter King’s for now.
Returns could happen later, but it’s wise to prepare for the departures that are brewing and hope for positive developments down the road.
