The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, June 24 Recap – Summer Dumps Kyle – Amanda Accuses Sutton of Murder

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 24, reveals that Summer Newman (Hunter King) will dump Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) while Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) accuses Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) of murder following Naya Benedict’s (Ptosha Storey) confession.

At Crimson Lights on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will greet Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and give him a positive review of Jabot’s new waterproof mascara. She’ll seem awfully chipper, so Jack will wonder if there’s a reason for this good mood.

Sally will insist she’s happy with where her life is now – and although she’s lost Jack’s trust, she’ll still count him as one of the most fascinating men she’s ever known. Sally will note that she’s sticking around for the long haul and will be glad Jack’s in Genoa City as well.

At The Grand Phoenix, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) will have a phone conversation with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) to set up a meeting regarding her shoe line.

Tara will gush about her brilliant decision to stay in GC and will think this fabulous town has everything she needs. That goes for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), too. Nearby, a suspicious Phyllis will eavesdrop and look irritated.

At Society, Summer will finally admit she got a job offer from Angelina Marchetti – one that will take her career to the next level. Kyle will point out that Summer said “will” instead of “could.”

Kyle will be in disbelief over Summer taking a job in Italy without even running it by him first. Kyle won’t understand why Summer would want this position when her whole life is there.

“Because I need to get away from Genoa City!” Summer will blurt out. She’ll talk about removing herself from the situation that’s developed with Tara and Harrison.

Summer will argue that she’s been trying to ignore her gut feeling by moving up the wedding and trying to prove everything was fine.

Summer will suggest the reality is she can’t see herself raising a child who’s the product of an affair with a woman who’ll be a permanent fixture in Kyle’s life. “A woman that you clearly still have feelings for!” Summer will add.

Kyle will deny that and will feel like Summer’s throwing all this at him out of the blue.

However, Summer will contend that she’s seen close, intimate moments between Kyle and Tara. Kyle will counter that he loves only Summer and will be willing to make this work if the job means that much to her.

Kyle will think he can just fly back and forth from Milan, but Summer will feel like Kyle would just wind up resenting her for how much time he was missing with Harrison.

Kyle will be desperate as he insists there has to be a way for them to stay together. Summer will claim she’s just doing what’s best for everyone before she rushes out in tears.

Meanwhile, Phyllis and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will debate why Summer is suddenly bailing on Kyle. They’ll eventually end up grilling Summer, who’ll insist they shouldn’t blame Kyle and should try being happy for her.

Once Summer stomps off, Nick will still be convinced Kyle must’ve done something to hurt Summer. Phyllis, on the other hand, won’t be so sure.

When Kyle returns to the Abbott mansion, he’ll ask to speak with Jack alone. Tara will look curious as she steps out and give them a chance to talk.

Kyle will confess that his life is suddenly on the brink – and he’ll have no idea how it happened.

After Kyle fills Jack in on Summer accepting the Milan offer, Jack will defend Summer. He’ll point out that the relationship dynamics have changed and add that there are no easy answers.

Kyle will wonder how he stops Summer from going, but Jack will ask if Kyle’s really ready to let go of Harrison. He’ll suggest that maybe Summer made this decision out of love for Kyle so he wouldn’t have to choose.

Kyle will insist he wants to go on this adventure with Summer. He’ll think it could be the start of something beautiful together, so Jack will wonder if Kyle can convince Summer of that.

Soon after, Kyle will find Summer crying in their suite. “Summer, I can’t let you do this. I won’t,” Kyle will declare. Back with Tara, she’ll fish for info from Jack by pointing out Kyle seemed upset.

Jack will make a comment about change being difficult before Tara sends Sally a text. Tara will insist they’re so close to getting what they both want, so Sally will read Tara’s message and smile.

On the coffeehouse patio, Denise Tolliver (Telma Hopkins) will meet with Amanda and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). She’ll reveal that she was able to access both Richard Nealon and Naya’s phone records for the two weeks leading up to the foster family meeting.

That was right before Richard was killed, so it was a crucial time period.

Denise will note that no phone calls were made to Newman Enterprises, but there were three made to Sutton’s office. There was also a phone call to Naya’s cell phone that lasted more than five minutes.

Amanda will find this upsetting since Naya said she avoided Richard’s calls and swore she never spoke to him again. She’ll decide to confront her birth mom and get the truth.

In Amanda’s suite, she’ll tear up over how much her father wanted her and how hard he fought for her. Amanda will fume over her family lying to her from the beginning, but Devon will talk about what a strong woman she is.

“Am I strong enough to walk away from what’s left of my family now that I’ve finally found them?” Amanda will ask. Later, Amanda will let Naya in and push for answers. She’ll explain that she knows for a fact Naya spoke to Richard a week before his death.

Naya will wonder how Amanda could possibly know, so Amanda will insist she has the phone records. After Naya admits Richard reached out, she’ll confirm that Richard did some digging and found out she was pregnant.

Naya offered Richard money to let it go, but he was insulted and disgusted. He was also far more in love with Naya than she was with him.

Naya will insist all Richard wanted was his daughters and will admit he knew she had twins. Amanda will realize Naya must’ve gone straight to Daddy to warn him about the threat to his campaign.

Amanda will reel as she assumes Sutton had Richard killed. “Sutton was willing to commit murder to keep Hilary and I a secret!” Amanda will shout.

Amanda will add that before she took this case, she asked Naya if Sutton could be guilty and was lied to. Naya will argue that she didn’t lie then and isn’t lying now. She’ll push Amanda to look in her eyes and see that she’s telling the truth.

Naya will argue that Sutton didn’t mastermind some deadly plan to avoid political fallout – that he just isn’t that kind of man.

Naya will beg Amanda to believe her, but she’ll be met with total resistance. “I don’t believe a damn word coming out of your mouth!” Amanda will fire back.
