The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may have a new plan to win Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) back. Phyllis could come home from her trip with a strategy to defeat Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), so let’s talk about how this might play out.
For starters, it’s tough to believe Y&R will throw away all that “Phack” reunion buildup completely.
Jack decided he was done, but that decision was perhaps a little hasty.
Phyllis messed up big time, but did she really mess up so badly that her relationship with Jack is broken beyond repair?
With Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) headed for a Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) reunion, there aren’t really any other good love interest options for Phyllis on canvas besides Jack.
Besides, Phyllis isn’t a quitter! This is the same relentless woman who got down in the mud and fought hard for The Grand Phoenix.
Why wouldn’t Phyllis fight just as hard or harder for Jack – especially since the alternative is letting Diane win?
Phyllis is currently off visiting Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei), so Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) is hoping that’ll offer a diversion for her mom.
Summer would like to see Phyllis and Diane coexist peacefully someday, but Jack isn’t so sure that’s possible.
Of course, proving it’s indeed possible could help Phyllis score the reunion she wants.
Once Phyllis returns to Genoa City, she’ll have a clear head and can focus on what’s next.
Phyllis may know what she has to do and set out to accomplish two goals on her way to getting back together with Jack.
The first one would be playing nice with Diane – or at least pretending to.
Phyllis doesn’t have to like Diane, but she does need to be able to tolerate her without completely losing it.
Jack needs to know Phyllis can handle Diane’s presence without going off the rails.
However, Phyllis will still want Diane out of the picture, so that could bring step two on her reunion mission.
Phyllis has to make herself look good with a push for peace, but she also needs to expose Diane’s true colors.
Since Phyllis believes Diane is a schemer to her core and someone who’ll never change, she needs to prove that and make sure Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) sends her packing.
That way, Phyllis and Jack will have a clear path back to normalcy.
It’s easy to imagine Phyllis coming home rejuvenated and determined to repair the damage with Jack.
Phyllis may set out to make phony peace with Diane and plot her downfall at the same time.
Since Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) wants Diane gone for good as well, she’ll become an ally for Phyllis.
That’s great news since Phyllis will need all the help she can get!
