The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Sally & Summer’s Encounter Takes Surprising Turn – Old Rivals Face the Past

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) tense encounter will take a surprising turn. These old rivals must face the past – and that has to start with an inevitable run-in.

Genoa City isn’t that big of a place, so it’s common for characters to bump into each other at typical hotspots around town.

Of course, Crimson Lights is where most of GC gets coffee, so it’s not all that shocking that Summer will end up spotting Sally there.

Sally and Summer will finally come face to face, so there’ll no doubt be some tension on Summer’s end.

Y&R fans can’t forget how Sally schemed to drive Summer to Italy and got tangled up in all that drama with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner).

Summer was disgusted at the mere mention of Sally recently, so she clearly hasn’t moved beyond her old rival’s betrayals completely.

Even so, we’re dealing with a far more mature Summer these days.

Summer isn’t the type to make a huge scene over things that don’t really matter anymore.

Tara is facing serious prison time – and Sally wound up giving Summer an amazing opportunity, even if her motives weren’t pure.

Sally was the reason Summer even got that Marchetti job, and now Marchetti is about to become Jabot’s latest acquisition.

Once Sally gets updates on Jabot’s imminent purchase and Summer’s move back to GC with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), she may suggest she’s happy everything’s working out.

Sally has done a lot of growing up herself thanks to her solid relationship with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Instead of spending all her time chasing after success and happiness, Sally feels like she’s found those things with Adam.

That’s settled Sally down, so Summer may sense the change.

Summer and Sally’s encounter will be pretty civil, so this definitely won’t turn into an all-out brawl like we’ve seen with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) lately.

Sally may apologize and even make a new pitch for friendship since Summer’s going to be sticking around.

Summer might think that’s going a bit too far, but she may see no reason they can’t coexist peacefully.

As for Adam, Summer knows he’s the Newman family wildcard, so she may offer some advice about being careful.

Sally may not be Summer’s favorite person, but Summer could still feel the need to give her a warning.

Bottom line, Summer and Sally will tackle the past so they can finally move forward.

This encounter should be a step in the right direction, so Sally may be surprised over how it all goes down.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally and Summer will have this long overdue conversation during the week of June 6-10, so stay tuned.
