General Hospital Recap: Friday, February 24 – Spencer Horrified At Esme & Ryan’s Long Game – Sonny’s Revenge for Brando

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, February 24, reveals that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) held the world’s largest newborn as Heather Webber (Alley Mills) entered her room at GH. Esme warned Heather to stay away from her baby and tried to call for help before jolting awake.

After Laura Collins (Genie Francis) appeared, she assured Esme that it was just a nightmare.

Laura confirmed that Heather was locked up and Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) was dead, so Esme was relieved.

Esme didn’t want to see her baby since she feared she might be a killer like her parents.

Since Heather and Ryan were monsters, Esme assumed she must be a terrible person who did the awful things she was accused of.

However, Esme admitted her mind was still blank and wondered where Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) was since he was her baby’s father.

Outside the nursery, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) pointed out his baby brother to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and said he may not even have to sue for custody now that Nikolas had disappeared.

With Nikolas gone and Esme in police custody, Spencer thought his sibling must feel alone in the world.

When Sonny and Spencer visited the baby inside the nursery soon after, Spencer seemed hopeful that Nikolas would return for his youngest son.

After Ava Jerome (Maura West) carefully answered Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) questions, she found Spencer and admitted that Ryan sent Esme to that school in France.

Spencer initially suggested it was ridiculous to think Esme seduced him to break up Ava and Nikolas, but then he decided it had to be true.

It dawned on Spencer that Esme manipulated him into stalking Ava and escalated things without his knowledge.

Spencer realized he’d done Ryan’s dirty work and blamed himself for driving Nikolas away, but Ava said Nik would still be here if not for Ryan.

Back in Esme’s room, she remembered Mac since he was the one Ryan hit over the head.

Esme explained that Ryan also stabbed the guard and that Heather said to do what Ryan said or else he would hurt her.

Heather didn’t seem scared according to Esme, who thought her parents planned the escape together.

Esme got confirmation that Ava was OK after her showdown in the woods and told Mac to thank her.

Mac congratulated Esme on her new baby before she called him “Ace.”

When Mac wondered if that’s what Esme named him, she admitted it just came out and thought it sounded right for some reason.

Esme seemed genuinely confused about where the name came from as she pondered it.

Over with Sonny again, he got updates on Ryan’s death from Laura.

Sonny also hinted about going after Heather for killing Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), but Laura pushed him to let the justice system take care of it.

At Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) apartment, he went over the options with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).

For option one, Dex could tell his employer that he wanted out and then cover his tracks after he left Port Charles.

Option two was that Dex would keep working for Sonny while hiding his relationship with Joss, but he could still go down for any crimes he was caught committing.

Both Dex and Josslyn liked option three, which was sticking to the original plan of getting the evidence to send Sonny to prison.

Dex hoped that’d leave him in the clear, but Josslyn worried it wouldn’t be that easy.

Nevertheless, option three was the only one that gave Dex what he really wanted: the chance to stay in PC with Josslyn and be free of Sonny.

Josslyn and Dex sealed their agreement of that decision with a kiss.

At Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) house, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) was freaked out over all the Esme revelations – including the fact that she was Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) half-sister.

After talk turned to Josslyn’s betrayal, Cam wasn’t sure he could ever be friends with her again. Elizabeth said people make mistakes, so sometimes all you can do is come clean and deal with the consequences.

Although Cameron suspected something was up, Liz simply told Cam that she loved him and left following Scott Baldwin’s (Kin Shriner) message.

At the PCPD, Scott talked to Robert Scorpio (Robert Scorpio) about his client having info on the hook attacks and wanting to make a deal.

Robert suspected this person was an accomplice, but Scott argued that his client got caught up something by mistake and urged the DA to go after the real felon.

In the interrogation room, Heather said she was ready to confess to the hook attacks without a lawyer, but she had one condition.

Once Heather revealed that condition offscreen, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) acted like they’d see what happened after she cooperated.

Heather eventually ran down the list of all the people she went after with a hook – including Nikolas.

Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) was surprised to learn Heather attacked Nikolas in the fall, but he escaped without a scratch.

Heather also explained the killer keepsake necklace of Ryan’s that she wore while avenging their daughter.

Dante and Jordan realized that explained the jangling sound that some hook victims had heard.

Although Heather willingly admitted to the hook attacks and justified them, she insisted Ryan stabbed that corrections officer.

Heather also claimed the escape was Ryan’s idea and acted like he forced her into it.

Once Heather finished her confession, she wanted the one thing she asked for and hinted that she could always recant.

Later, Mac opened the door to Esme’s GH room and confirmed that she was sure about this.

Heather appeared for a visit with her daughter since that was clearly what she’d demanded.

Back at the PCPD, Robert was with Dante and Jordan when Elizabeth showed up.

Scott revealed that Liz was the client who had news on where Esme was and what she was doing when she went missing.

After Laura and Sonny found Spencer, he was upset over the damage he’d done to his relationship with Nikolas.

Laura assured Spencer that they’d find Nik and explain, but Ava looked uncomfortable as she slinked off nearby.
